Driving through the wildfires

I'm up here in Atlanta, far away from the fires, and the air is FILLED with smoke. For those of you driving through South Georgia and Florida, how bad is it?

We didn't drive through it during our trip last week, but talked to a couple that did. Parts of I-75 were closed, and they were basically shunted off the interstate with no information on where they could get back on, or anything. Took them 3 extra hours to get to WDW.

Thanks. I'll make sure I study the maps if things don't improve in the next 1.5 months. But for my asthmatic son's sake, I hope it does!

ROADS CLOSED IN SOUTH GA AND NORTH FL DUE TO WILDFIRES
UPDATED 1 PM MONDAY MAY 21: Smoke from the ongoing wildfires in South Georgia and North Florida is affecting visibility on interstates and state routes on the Georgia coast from South Carolina to Florida and 100 miles inland. Motorists should be cautious while traveling in these areas or avoid them altogether.

The following roads remain closed due to wildfires:
Georgia
- US 441 between Fargo and Florida Line
- SR 177 between Stephen C. Foster State Park and Fargo
Traffic is allowed on I-75 as visibility permits. Expect frequent closures and use alternate routes if possible.
Florida
- US 441 between CR 246 and the Georgia Line is open to local traffic only
- SR 2 is open to local traffic only
Traffic is allowed on I-10, I-75, I-95 and I-295 as visibility permits. Expect frequent closures and use alternate routes if possible.

- Areas west of Hwy. 121 from Folkston to Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, including Hamp Chesser and Doc Ryder roads, and south to Chesser Island Rd. (Charlton Co.)
- Moniac (Charlton County)
- Reeves Landing (Clinch Co.)
Fire Advisory
- Davis Community (Charlton Co. west of Folkston)

Florida: All evacuations have been lifted.
