On all of our previous trips to WDW down I-95, we have stayed on 95 through Jacksonville, only to experience slow downs and traffic going through the city. Has anyone ever used 295 to go around Jacksonville? It looks like it's about an extra 15 miles. Is it worth it? Thanks in advance for your help.

Depends on time of day and what day. If weekday rush hour yes. If not then no.

We'll be driving through Jacksonville on a Sunday in September at around 10:00 or 11:00 a.m. Should we stay on I-95 instead of taking 295?

I use I-95 to go to my DD in Wilmington from Deltona. I would stay on I-95.

Since you are coming in on Sunday morning, you may consider taking the I-4 exit West to WDW. Should be a easy trip that day and time. You will be about an 1 hr to 1.5 from I-95 to 64B exit at WDW

I have done both because construction through Jacksonville has been an issue for the past few years. I295 only takes a little longer but the construction I believe is now on the interchanges from 95 to 295 and 295 to 95.

I plan on staying on 95 when I drive through on Friday.

What has to be remembered is Florida is a verticle state and that limits multiple options. Unlike back in the mainland where we can go in any direction.
