Driving Resource: List of Hotels along I-95 (May 2010 thru Jan 2011)

We're wondering if anyone has stayed at the Suburban Extended Stay in Florence, SC? We will literally be falling into bed when we get there and just need somewhere clean to rest our heads. We'll be up bright and early the next morning to continue on our way. We'll have no time to enjoy the grounds or anything, so I don't want to pay for extra amenities we won't use.

Good Price! Maybe someone can chime in and let you know what they thought too. Regardless, please let us know what you think. ;)

I haven't stayed there but I got the same price for our June trip...Trip advisor had good reviews and it seems fairly new which is usually a good thing. If anyone has any experience with this La Quinta, Please share!!!

I mentioned in my earlier post that we like the Springhill Suites in Florence, SC. Nice and new and nice breakfast. We got a studio suite around $80 in January 2009.

I am curious to know how your trip goes since we are leaving about 2 weeks after you and driving from Nassau County. Please post! I'm wondering if it is possible for us to make it to georgia on day 1 without killing each other or ourselves LOL.

Will definitely let you know! I think we will all be so excited about the trip that the drive there will be great, coming home, not so sure LOL!!

Not sure how I missed it? I added it to the list. Thanks! :flower3:

Those are exactly our thoughts. We are going to drive straight through there, but I am booking a hotel for the trip home. ;)

We just stayed at the Microtel in Kingsland, Ga. We used a coupon from one of those green booklets & paid $45. With tax it came to $52. Very clean & we enjoyed the pool. Staff was very friendly!

This thread has been so helpful. We are driving to Orlando for the first time at the end of June and I had no idea where to stop. We are coming from north Jersey. I know that first day will be tough so I was thinking that a hotel halfway, or a little less, would be good. It seems that either Selma or Florence will do just fine. Again, thanks.

You are very welcome. :goodvibes Thank you for posting! If you haven't been over to the 2,000 thread, I highly suggest it. You can post questions of those who drive to Disney regularly! NJ/ DE/ PA drivers are there to offer timing advice too!

Others on that thread booked reservations for mutliple hotels, (hard to determine how far you might make it). They made sure whereever they booked, they were able to cancel the ressies depending on how far they drove.

I will be able to add the Comfort Suites in Brunswick, Ga in Dec. Booked it yesterday. Finally convinced DH to drive a little further south then Savannah. Got a great rate and it had good reviews. I'm an odd one on the boards I normally go for the nonrefundable rate since its a lot cheaper. We leave early enough from s.Jersey that we know we can definatly make it to where I book even with a delay. Being a family of 5 its just hard to even find someplace with a room that will sleep us all.

On the positive experience side - I can add the Four Points by Sheraton at the Savannah, GA exit 104. Clean and well lighted. Fairly easy on/off the highway. Interior corridors. Also, they are part of the spg program, so you can use points there. Stayed there twice, and would have no problem staying there on future trips.

Check back and let us know how it was. :flower3:

Thanks, I added it. I love the look of the rooms.

I wish i had an idea of how do able it would be to get to Savannah in one day. I'm driving myself crazy trying to decide where to book. We're coming from Nassau County, Long Island and I want to get as far as I can the first day. I would like to make it at least as far as Walterboro. Has anyone done a similar drive with a toddler? She is very good in the car and will have distractions such as siblings, toys and dvd's plus the help of a night time dipe!!

We are in South Jersey so I guess you could add about 3 hours more for your drive. We leave NJ about 2-3 am and we got to Savannah last year at about 4pm. I know it was a little before actually since we didn't know if we would have been able to check in yet. We stopped for gas before we left NJ and then we stopped for breakfast at cracker barrel once we were into VA. We also stopped I think for gas again and 2 potty breaks. I've never done it with a toddler though, mine were 6,7,and 8 on our first trip. So it may be doable or if you are more comfortable aim for an hour or 2 north of Savannah.

Thanks! I'm shooting for leaving between 4 and 5 and I'm figuring we will stop driving by 7 or 8 depending on how tired we are. I think I'm going to shoot for Walterboro, SC and Savannah as my "wish" stop. As in "I wish we could make it to Savannah!" There's no way I could get any up at 2 am. I would be exhausted because i am not a night person and I wouldn't get any sleep worrying about getting up, LOL!
