I would suggest making 2 reservations, one for Walterboro and one for Savannah and then see how the ride is going. Make sure you can cancel the same day until 6pm.
Has anyone stayed in Ridgeland SC??
I wish i had an idea of how do able it would be to get to Savannah in one day. I'm driving myself crazy trying to decide where to book. We're coming from Nassau County, Long Island and I want to get as far as I can the first day. I would like to make it at least as far as Walterboro. Has anyone done a similar drive with a toddler? She is very good in the car and will have distractions such as siblings, toys and dvd's plus the help of a night time dipe!!
We`ve stayed at the Courtyard in Brunswick/Kingsland GA last two trips going down .It`s probably only a couple years old.We always get up and have the breakfast buffet and head to WDW.It`s right at 240 miles left to drive. It`s right by the exit but very quiet.

My daughter goes to college in Savannah so I've made the drive from NJ a few times in the past two years.
Total driving time (excluding a quick meal stop, one gas stop and maybe one quick restroom stop) from NJ Turnpike Exit 5 OR I-295 Exit 47B is about 12.5 hours with moderate traffic in DC.
We fly in the face of convention and always stay on I-95, making an effort to run the DC portion of the trip after 9am/before 3pm on weekdays. Weekends don't seem to cause issues for us.
Not sure if this has been posted before (didnt read the whole thread) We stayed at La Quinta and it was very nice clean, cool, great nights sleep.. I grabbed one of those coupon books at the welcome centers and it was 47 bucks tax included, free breakfast too!![]()
I'll add to page one. What town/ city was it in?
Does anyone remember a post about a brand new hotel somewhere around Savannah? It may have been in Walterboro? I can't remember if I saw the post here on the DIS or on another site. Thanks!
Hi There!Looking for hotel suggestions on the north bound trip on 95. Would like to stay around Baltimore/Wash if possible. Any suggestions would be great. And...we are a family of 5 so I need a suite type set up.
Thanks so much!
anyone know?
anyone know?
I had a friend who stayed at a Baymont last July near Savannah that was brand new and very nice, and very reasonably priced. Not sure what exit though.
Ok...I am currently at the La Qunita in Kingsland, Ga. We stopped here on our way to Orlando. It is very clean and nice. It appears to be fairly new. I would stay here again! We also went to the waterfront area near here....St Mary's and had seafood at a cute little restaurant called Trolley's. It was very affordable and yummy!
