We will be driving down from NC on Friday 6/21 via I-4. Hoping to hit the general area by 4 PM so I know rush hour will be crazy. We are staying at Wyndham Cypress Palms on US192 down the road from Old Town.

Would it be better for us to get off I-4 in the Sanford area onto 417 and take it to the Osceola Parkway exit or stay on I-4? If anyone had a better suggestion, I am open to all routes.

417 is a toll road right? I need to look up and see how much tolls would be.

TIA!

Friday afternoon? You will still get off I-95 onto I-4 but you will be better off getting off I-4 onto Toll 417 south shortly thereafter (long before getting to Orlando).

You might as well get off at Osceola Parkway (exit 3 off of 417). I am not absolutely sure of the road arrangement down there but now you are just about one mile north of 192. You could get back on I-4 west (southwest) to 192 down there or there may be a north-south side road to 192 a little before (east of) that.

I think that, if you did not get off at Osceola Pkwy then the next stop off of 417 is I-4 a tad south of 192. You would then double back up I-4 to 192,.

At some of the toll plazas you must go down what looks like an exit ramp to pay the toll using cash. Watch the signs. If you have a Sunpass or a Quickpass or a Peachpass (not an EZpass) then you can use the electronic toll lanes.

If I get off 417 onto Osceola, I can head east and turn on the road that takes you to Polynesian Isle Resort. It crossed over 192 and then you turn right into the Cypress Palms.

The toll is only $8, so we will probably do that unless we end up getting into town later than expected. Thanks!

Not sure, but I think that exit onto Osceola Pkwy has an unattended toll booth, so be sure to have 3 quarters on hand.

All of the mainline plazas have attendants that can make change.

Yes, that's right. You need change to exit at Osceola Pkwy.

A few folks have mentioned "exiting" to pay cash tolls but I have never seen that. There are always cash and SunPass booths on the main highway. Unless it's changed in the past months or so.

The main travel lanes are for electronic tolls only; the cash lanes are off to the right of the main travel lanes, so in that sense you have to exit the highway to get to the toll booths.
