Google maps propses 2 routes:

- FL-528 E / I-95 S: 113 Mi., 2h

or

- US-192 E: 98 Mi., 2h

We have a Sunpass so it doesn't matter to me if one is a toll road.

Which one would you recommend based on being more scenic?

192 is more scenic (as in out in the country) once you get out of Kissimmee, but the scenery is not much to look at - LOL!

I prefer that to Melbourne (never drove that from WDW to Vero) because I don't like driving on I-95 any more than I have to. I assume that takes you straight into Indialantic and then down A1A once 192 ends at the coast? Or actually, probably has you turning down Route 1 to the south before the causeway to the beach?

The other way takes you over the Beachline (former Beeline) past the airport to I-95 and then you go straight down.

It's really what you prefer I would say - country or highway. But there will be traffic on 192 in Kissimmee and Melbourne, but I've never found it too terrible except in front of the Melbourne Mall which is a pain.

If you take 192 wave to my old neighborhood right off 192 after the I-95 overpass! :-)

Actually, you can also take Osceola Parkway to the Turnpike and the turnpike to 60. You then take 60 into Vero Beach and go north on 1 or A1A to Vero Beach. That is our preferred way of going. Quick and easy, and we don't mind to tolls.

We've done the turnpike many times when driving down to Ft. Lauderdale. So I would like to try out something new.

We'll probably do 192 to Melbourne and then A1A south from there.

We like rural areas and on this route I think we should get to see plenty of it.

Last time we drove down Sherberth Rd. I was surprised to see a cow pasture, I had never seen cows in Florida before, so this was quite interesting.

We have done theWDW to Vero twice. For us the quickest way was to take the 528 to I-95. Then I-95 down to Hwy 512 then to 510 through Wabasso. After 510 hits Hwy A1A the DVC Vero is only 1 block down on the left. It took about an hour and a half.
