We live in Fairmont, WV - and I travel into that area a few times a year for work. I am a college recruiter for one of the colleges in the state!
I hope you have prepared your kids to live in a very sparsely populated area of the state! There isn't much around! BUT - it is absolutely beautiful!
If you ever have any questions feel free to contact me - I'm a bit of a WV dork
Perhaps your kids will be a Knight of Lady or the Golden Horseshoe some day!
That's one of the cool things about WV, what other states offers knighthood for being a history geek?
West Virginians and Texans have a lot in common actually!
Just be sure you take several hours to enjoy the State Capitol, the WV Culture Center and State Museum (it just had a several million dollar overhaul, and the Governor's Mansion!
And - in the Fall - you'll definitely want to take a trip on Cass Scenic Railroad!
Also - you aren't too far from Snowshoe Mountain - hope you like snow - Snowshoe had over 150 inches of natural snow base this year!!! I hope you like to ski!!!!
WELCOME to WV!
