Driving from TX to WDW with 5 month old - Advice?

We live in the N. Texas area, and all of our past trips to WDW we have flown there. However, our doctor doesn't want us to fly with our daughter until she is a year old (I know lots of people do and wish we could but we really feel we need to follow his advice on this [sigh]). Since we have not had a vacation since our last trip in May 2003 we are SO ready for a break and really don't feel like we can wait till she is a year old, so we will be driving to FL from Texas. I was hoping any other Texans who have driven could give advice on the routes they have taken, places they have stopped mid way, etc. Also, any parents who have made a long (2 day) trip with a 5 month old, can you give us any tips? Are we crazy to do this?
