Driving from Staten Island, NY to Nags Head, NC

Last time we drove we stopped in Salisbury, MD - do you know where we would be if we drove about another 30 miles or so and wanted to stop and sleep?

Looking to drive about 5 - 5 1/2 hours from the Outerbridge and then stop over for the night before driving to Nags Head the following morning.

I honestly don't know, but back when we went to the OB, we would stop in Richmond, VA, at an Embassy Suites right off of 95. It took about 6 hours from NE NJ, and the kids would play in the pool, while we enjoyed some free cocktails and snacks.

We go via rt 13 I think - don't take 95

Depending on traffic you could get to Norfolk around that time. We have not stayed over in that area but I'm sure you could search for something.

If you are going take 95 to NJ Turnpike to Del Mem Br. to 1 to 13 then you could get off 1 in Dover Del stop for the night and be about 5.5 to 6 hours from Nags Head. Just head down 13 to 168 to 158. Time to Nags Head will vary depending upon traffic in Norfolk and if there is a lot of beach traffic.

We go to Dover all the time to visit MIL. There are tons of hotels in Dover because of the AF Base and Dover downs but even so MAKE RESERVATIONS. If it's a fly in weekend or race weekend then rooms can be hard to find.

No, Dover seems it will be too close to home...i want to drive from NYC about 5+ hours then stop so in the morning it will only be about 2 1/2 hour drive..
