We always stop at Buttonwillow for gas and love their "coffee" (chocolate banana) at their travel center. 
Also love the name Buttonwillow! 
We will be going to my sister's house in Yuciapa so that is a 9 hour drive. Then we will go from there to DL each morning. Not looking forward to commute traffic, but staying in a hotel had its own complications, not to mention it still costs more than the gas to get there.
