We are planning to go to wdw and stay at FW in October. It is about a 20 hor drive and we aren't sure when to leave and where to stay for a night with the RV. Can anyone suggest any nice parks to stay a night in either SC or Georgia? I'd be dreaming if I thought we could drive straight through, so I plan to stop a night each way...any suggestions?

With traveling you don't really want to get to far off the path so my sudjestion would be KOA. Sorry I don't know where they are just check out there website.

When in Oct are you heading down? We will be there around the 19th of Oct for 7 or 8 days. We are hauling the wifes tent trailer down with us from London driving I75.

Very cool we will have our CDN flag hanging from our van or truck depending on what we are driving we will be in loop 1300. Stop by and say hi if you think of it.

What about a Walmart parking lot? They allow it at most of them and that's what a lot of RV'rs do en route - just pull in to sleep.

Look these places up they are all in North GA in teh Savannah area not far off I95.

Skidway
Tybee Island
Bellaire Woods
and the KOA in the area

I think we are staying at Sidway as it is only a 40 minute drive to Hilton Head Island we are going to go check the Disney resort out since it is one of our home resorts and we have never even been there once LOL.

I've driven to Florida many times but I've never taken an RV. I know that if you plan on driving it might be worth picking up a book called "Along 1-75". It has all kinds of great information about this drive including where to stop, where to avoid etc.. Once you get the book it also comes with a code that you can check on the Internet to see the most up-to-date construction areas and get directions to avoid them. I'm pretty sure the book has info on RV stops as well.

Enjoy your trip!

There is a book called "The Next Exit". You can order it online. The book will tell you what is found at every exit. Things like...restaurants, hotels, shopping, and gas. It also lists services for RV's and motorhomes such as camp grounds and gas/service stations that can accomodate RV's.

This is an excellent book, written by Dave Hunter. It also has interesting tidbits about different locations along the way (almost every mile marker had a little story of some kind). It made the drive a whole lot faster for us the last time. Like the knock-off, it also lists what is at each exit, which gas stations generally post the lowest rate, where the speed traps are usually set up, etc.
