Where do you split the trip up?? I'm thinking about staying in Savannah, SC, or maybe South of the Border. Just don't want to drive straight through this time!!!

When you get to the South of the Border.....Smile and :wave2: and say "Adios!"

Seriously. Keep going. We always stop at Savannah, GA or Brunswick, GA which is 1 hr south of Savannah. At Christmas we ate dinner in Savannah and then drove to Brunswick and spent the night. I really liked staying in Brunswick. It was more quiet and less "busy" than Savannah, but Savannah is nice too. We get most of the trip out of the way the first day and the next day is "cake."

In Savannah we stay at the Wingate Inn or something similar and in Brunswick we stayed at the Holiday Inn which had nice beds (2 queens and plush bedding). There is also a Country Inn & Suites there as well.
Hope that helped.

South of the Border is not far enough South I feel. I would def keep going to southern SC or North GA... Where in N Va y ou from, I am born and raised in McLean but now live in Manassas (damn expensive to buy a house for a young 26 year old anywhere else)

It's only a 12 hour drive to go straight through if you time it right. Get the car packed and get to bed early the night before and leave at 4:00 am. You'll be in WDW in time for dinner.

Use the Richmond bypass and the only place you'll need to worry about traffic is J'Ville.

If you do absolutely want to stop for the night, Richmond Hill, GA is a good place. There's a clean, safe Hampton Inn just off I-95.

Thank you everyone!! Yes, I think South of the Border is too north as well. I was thinking Savannah, but I will look into New Brunswick too.

Ducklite - we usually drive right through, although last year we left at 8pm and it was really tough on my husband the next day (especially when you are running a marathon while you are there :)).

REL1203 - Grew up and still in Vienna, Virginia!! Yes, most people who were raised here are scattered southwest!

Thanks again for all the help you all!!!
