Driving from IL for the FIRST time ever in order to take a last minute trip on the Disney Cruise Line. I just booked a 2/7/10 cruise and need some advice. We are thinking about leaving at noon on Friday so the girls get 1/2 day in at school and drive to Nashville or a little south. We will stop for dinner and a good nights rest. Get up the next day and hope to make it to the Port but if not we will go as far as possible. Then we at least have the next morning to get there in case something goes wrong.

Any ideas of a nice hotel around the Nashville area with a pool?? Breakfast would also be great! Thanks for any advice on this last minute crazy idea of mine!!:scared1:

I live in Nashville so I don't have much personal experience with staying at hotels in the area, but I would suggest searching in Smyrna or Murfreesboro. Smyrna is about 25 miles southeast of Nashville and Murfreesboro about 10 miles further down I-24, so you would be a little closer to your final destination. Lots of the chains have hotels in the area and you'll most likely get a better rate than you would in Nashville. Personally, I've had pretty good success with Hampton Inn in various locations, so you might try that. I did a quick search and the one in Smyrna has an indoor pool. Hampton Inns always have free breakfast. I don't spend a lot of time in the Murfressboro/Smyrna area, but I drive that way occasionally going to Chattanooga or Atlanta and there are tons of good restaurants for dinner. Good luck and have a great cruise!

Thank you, Thank you. I will try one of those area. May just go ahead and book something. Very excited about the cruise but nervous about the drive. Hoping for good weather.:)

I would certainly try to drive south of Nashville, get passed the morning traffic on day #2.
