Driving for the first time to WDW!! Any tips?

We just moved to Florida (woo hoo!!) from NYC, and now we get to drive to Disney World (another woo hoo!!). Alas, I've never driven to WDW, we've always taken the Magical Express (not going to lie, kinda sad we don't get to hop on). So, now I'm driving to Orlando, staying at Bay Lake Tower. Is there anything I should know? Tips? Tricks? Things to avoid?
FYI, I'm a DVC member and Gold Annual Pass holder.

The transportation board here is going to be your best bet. They have a lot of threads dedicated to driving around property. Thankfully before we moved to Florida, we always rented a car when going to Disney so we were quite used to all the roads. The best thing is, you can never get lost on Disney property, even if you miss and exit or turn, there will be signs to point you where you want to go.

The answer to the OP's question depends on exactly where in FL they are now. Still, because WDW is pretty much at the intersection of several major highways its fairly simple to get there from anywhere.

I am in Miami- I'm not concerned with getting there, but more interested in information on parking and whether it's worth it to drive to the resorts, bus or Uber.
What time should I park to get to RD?
Are there certain sections to park in?
Is it better to just take Disney transportation around the property?

Thanks for the clarification.

I find it easy to drive around WDW and would use my car to go everywhere (parks and resorts) except for the MK. When going to the MK, Disney transportation is more convenient since it drops you off right at the entrance rather than having to park at the TTC and do the monorail/boat thing to get to the MK entrance.

You won't have a choice about where to park. The CM's will direct you.
