driving end of nov/beg december.

Hi: Anyone drive to wdw from ontario the end of nov or the beginning of dec.

Did you run into snow or ice?

When we drove a few years ago at the end of Dec. we had a 4 hour stop because of severe ice on the roads in Tennessee. That has been our only driving experience during that time frame.

When we went on 03 we were slowed down in Ohio for icy bridges everything else was fine it was just the bridges. The reason being is they are all concrete and the drainage groves in them run lenghtways on the bridge not side to side so the water collects in them and freezes. This was the first and only time we have had any problems on our drives. We have been going the first 2 weeks of Dec every year since 96 minus a couple years we didn't go. We have driven on every trip but in 96.

We went mid Nov las year and the rodes were wonderful. I can remember one year when I was a kid driving home on the American Thanksgiving and our car was about the only car on the rode in Downtown Atlanta Georgia!! EERIE! Keep in mind however that nothing is open on this day.

I believe it was 3 years ago now, we drove down 77/79 and it rained from the top of Georgia all the way in to Florida. It was a driving rain as well, I was scared, but dh was driving so we were ok!
We have experienced snow in PA before and had to pull over there.
Coming back on the 175 the same year we had hit a really bad ice storm and stayed in Ohio, same thing that Charlestd had. It was very scary seeing all the cars that had gone off the highway.

Hopefully, since we've had such nice weather all summer it will continue in to November and December for you!

Hi Thanks for the replies. i think i would rather drive in oct/nov or wait til april. You just can never tell with the weather.
