Drive from Laguna Beach to LAX ON MEMORIAL DAY?

After Disneyland, we're staying in Laguna Beach for a couple of days. How much time do I need to plan to drive back to LAX? Our flight leaves at 1:20 pm, so I was thinking we'd leave our resort around 10 am? We're flying Airtran.

It depends on the day and time and where you are staying. On the perfect, traffic-free day you will need an hour. You'll love Laguna! I live very close to and spend most of time there. A couple days ago, my friend asked me why I don't just move there. My reply was, "I already live there, but no one told my house!"

Any ideas for Memorial Day traffic from Laguna Beach to LAX? I'm worried about the increase in traffic due to Memorial Day--any locals?

Take the toll road and you will save some time.

Some time you can get stuck on the freeway..

Don't leave Laguna any later then 8:30 am. 9 am at the latest...


You can expect the drive on a good day to 1.25 hours.. But with a Holiday you never know. You need about 90 minutes to check in and if you have a rental car.... You still need to return that..

The toll road can be expensive, but totally worth it. We have a beach house in 3 Arch Bay and our residence is about 10 minutes from LAX. So the drive can be hectic.. Also you don't want to miss the flight...

I think it is the San Jauquine expressway.. You will see the signs for the toll road..

It is the only one out there..

I haven't been in a while and ususally sleep when we drive down.
