Can someone tell me about the drive from HoJo's to Newport Beach. We want our girls to see the coast/beach. We're actually leaving Las Vegas early Monday morning (approx 7am to drive to anaheim) drop off bags, check in, and then we want to head over to the beach and hang out for a few hours and have dinner.

Can someone tell me about the drive to DL to Newport Beach, how long and is traffic going to be bad at about noon..

Also what about the return trip.. we'll be having dinner somewhere near the beach and then we'll head back to HoJo's around 7pm ish..

Tell anything you can about this, all feedback, advice, recommendations are welcome. TIA

You shouldn't run into to much traffic going to Newport Beach on the 55 on a Monday. The drive may take any where from 20 to 30 min's (depending on the way you drive :) )

But just a warning if your leaving around 7pm to go back to HOJO's you'll, more then likely, run into to traffic. I've seen it, at its worse, taking me over an hour and half to get from Newport just to the 5 north.

I'd normally say rush hour traffic for the 55 normally starts around 4:30pm and sometimes last's till around 8pm. Of course this can vary depending on holidays, the weather and sometimes you can get lucky and the drive may not be all that bad.

You may want to look at taking surface streets back for part of your way to DL.

Stay in the diamond lane/car pool lane and you'll get there much faster. Newport has great beaches. Have fun and don't forget the sunscreen!
