does anybody know if we can bring our own beer on the ship?

Yes you can and as much as you want. You cannot pack it in ice but you can use a soft sided cooler and you can check it with you luggage. You should only bring cans if you are checking the luggage. We also brought a 6 pack of smirnoff ice in bottles and carried it on in our back pack. This was fine for us and security doesn't care at all. They usually just ask what it is.

Keep in mind DCL is the only cruise line to let you do this. Isn't that nice of them?
