OK, Here is the deal: Me and DP are going to be at the World from Feb 4-8th. Some friends of ours have a timeshare nearby and want to meet us for two days at Epcot. The group has decided to spend the afternoon of the second day, "Drinking Around the World." I have always wanted to do this but never had the time during a trip.
My question....Any suggestions for bars/drinks in Epcot that you would consider "don't miss!" This group is very open to suggestions and loves to have a good time.
Thanks for any advice!

We always goto the Biergarten in Germany/ You get to sit with new people take in the show and (for me at least ) the food reminds me of my Oma's. With that being said I am not sure if you can just get a drink there though or if you have to eat too?

The orange slushy Grand Marnier drink from the kiosk in France is very sweet, but refreshing and delicous. And it has a surprising kick to it. And it is very pretty!

I like the Champagne in France. A pint of Harp at the Rose and Crown is good, too.

Last year, I thought the Margaritas had no alchohol in them.

Tequila, Grand Mariner, Champagne and beer sound like a good recipe for a protien spill;) . I tried to drink around the showcase and am afraid I didn't make it (gave up and took a nap). Best of luck to you all:thumbsup2

dkostel- you hit it right on the head! When this idea first came up that was my main concern:goodvibes
I'm thinking I'll probably stick to drinking a BEER from each country rather than turning myself into a trashcan!
Now for the others........I can't say what they will do:banana:
Thanks for all of the tips....please keep them coming!

The eiswein @ Germany is totally delish (and you get a pretty tiny portion so even a lightweight like me doesn't get too sloshed)

I never miss the rose & Crown. Love it in there. Or there's always the kiosk next to it if you don't have time..

Ooh, I love ice wine (or eiswein in Germany). Canada offers Inniskillen which I highly recommend. On Saturday we might be going to the Icewine Festival in Niagara on the Lake, Canada. I say 'might' because even though I'm a Buffalonian if it's too cold we aren't going!! Back to EPCOT - I always have to stop by the Rose and Crown for a Harp and France for wine ... but not on the same day since I tried to avoid mixing.:rolleyes1

Don't forget a nice Kirin. Japan has a kiosk on the promenade (to the left of the big tower thing where Chicks with Sticks plays) or deeper in side at the fast food place.

We usually start with
  • Mexican Margaritas (on the promenade)
  • maybe a German beer (fast food place)
  • Italian Margarita (on the promenade)
  • maybe a Japanese Kirin (on the promenade)
  • maybe a beer at Morocco (on the promenade), but they only sell domestics
  • a French Margarita (on the promenade - cash only, be warned)
  • an evening with Pam Brody, the vivacious pub pianist at the UK pub. She plays Sundays and Thursdays. While there we focus on Long Island Iced Teas or Grateful Deads.
Enjoy!

before I forget , Morocco was selling bud , bud light and a foreign brand I cant pronounce .

I LOVED both drinks served at the champagne booth, the lemonade and orange crush. First had Grey Goose Vodka and the second Grand Marnier <sp>

Also we had bellini's in Italy .

We learned on this trip that if you go INTO the stores to buy a glass of wine , its cheaper. We had a glass of wine in Italy and we were shopping , found our way into the wine store and the wine was cheaper by the glass for the same wine!!!!!!!!

Oh Nice cold Lebatt's Blue in Canada really hits the spot.

I just posted this somewhere else.

We went on Friday, and I think we are going tonight. We use Epcot as our Happy Hour.:rotfl2:

We usually go this route:

Fiesta Margarita in Mexico
Beer in Norway (I think its Carlsberg) with school bread
Beer or Wine (Riesling) in Germany with a pretzel
Rose Regale in Italy
Champagne (Kir Royal or Pomengrante Royal) in France
Pint of Boddingtons in the UK

sometimes we go to the back of the shops in Japan and get cold, unfiltered sake. Unfiltered Sake is sweeter. So even those who don't like Sake will love this.

Maybe we'll see you tonight:rolleyes1

Just got back and wanted to give everyone a quick rundown of the Drinking Around the World Tour, Feb. 07! I will be posting a full trip report soon.
And contrary to my original idea......I was pretty much a trashcan!

Canada- an ice cold Labatts
United Kingdom- 1/2 yard of Bass
France- Grand Marnier Slush- out of this world!
Morocco- Casa Beer
Japan- Warm Sake
American Adventure- Bud Light
Italy- Chianti
Germany- Franziskaner Weisse
China- Tsing Tao Beer
Norway- Carlsberg Beer
Mexico- Margarita....what else!

Surprisingly everyone felt fine the next day.....and keep in mind, we spent the night before acting like fools in Pleasure Island(I am now an official member of The Adventurers Club-not by choice). Not too bad for a bunch of late 30-somethings......:dance3:

Yeah, but I bet you were a happy trashcan! It sounds like you listened to everyone's advise - great job. It should be an interesting trip report!

I salute you for your devotion to task!!!! Were you still upright and reasonably coherent by the end of the circuit?
