Drinking Around The World (Showcase)

And people wonder how I can keep going back to WDW so many times! Hey, I'm not riding It's a Small World over and over!

The best things about having drinks around the world - I just have a glass of wine wherever I can - is enjoying all that live entertainment while you do it. Epcot is so much fun in the late afternoon/early evening!

What a fun thread! My in-laws are staying with us for a couple of nights. They offered to babysit one night, so we made a PS for CG. We, too, are going to monorail are way around the three resorts. Hey, can anyone recommend a good place for a beer at GF and Poly? Give me an outdoor option too if ya have one  please.

TOFFEE DRINK

I'm not sure what this could be. Jaegermeister? Love Jaeger after a big meal. But it tastes more like anise or kind of licorishy. A lot of people serve it cold. I can't think what else it might be.

It's definitely not Jaegermeister, it's something I've never heard of before. I think it's in a cobalt blue bottle with white lettering.

I have done this every time I go down. It is one of the funner things to do. I am a big beer drinker and since I am at disney for the kids I don't get a chance to enjoy a beer that often down there. One night we go without the kids and have a blast. Since I stay at BWV I walk over. the first time i did this , me and BIL started it England and worked clockwise. Well when we finally made it to france we went to the outside booth and ordered 2 beers native to the land. The CM stated in a snutty french voice, "this is france sir we serve wine". Me and BIL couldn't stop laughing. We headed back over to England and had a couple of Harp's instead.

The Poly has a cool bar called the Tambu Lounge, the GF has a nice cigar bar, can't remember the name, on the second floor. (That is, if the smoke doesn't bother you.) As for an outside bar,
many of the deluxe resorts have poolside bars or there is a place on the Boardwalk called Big River Grille & Brewery that isn't technically an outside bar, but they do have outside table service & they are a microbrewery. I had a great Margarita there. FYI the Boardwalk is a quick walk from Epcot through the International Gateway, between France & England. Enjoy!

Can't wait to officially do this in July - I tried last year and bought one of those World Showcase Passports and asked the bartenders to sign in each country but they looked at me like I was crazy so I didn't do all of the countries. EPCOT WS is my favorite because you can have a few drinks and still keep the entire family entertained. RINGNES is Norway is my favorite.:p

We dedicate one weekend trip a year solely for this purpose. You can see the first 3 years in pictures at our website:

We just got back from our 4 year, but haven't gotten the photos up yet.

Thanks for the info Eljay.

DR -- Loved your tribute to DAW (drinking around the world). Especially your new German dialect.

My cousin LOVES the Ringnes in Norway. When he came back from WDW 2 years ago he looked all over G.A. to find a store that sold it. He couldn't find any. He called WDW to find out where he could get it. They gave him an E-mail address to EPCOT-Norway. They E-mailed him many times until he found that a store in N.J. sold it. When I told him we would be driving down from N.J. to see him and his family he told me to drive the 40 mins. from my house to the store and buy him 4 cases of the stuff. So we drove 14 hours with 4 cases of beer just so he could have some Ringnes. And even he still has a case at home, when we went to EPCOT this past Jan. he still went to Norway for his beer. :p
I haven't done the drinks around the world, but I'm sure I will.

Be sure to save your half yard "glasses" for $7 refills in England. I kicked myself for not bring mine back with me on a return trip to Epcot. I felt strangely out of place holding a half yard while my kids were at the character greet.
