Can't seem to find it, but maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I'm thinking at this point of flying with SW in March(the flights are so much cheaper then JB). We have only flown JB (only 4 times). What is the rule and directions at the 24hr mark to get us all together. I don't care if were in the back of the plane, as long as were together. I really don't want to pay the extra $10.00 per person either. That to me is just a money grabber and not for us(not to offend anyone who uses it). Also if the flight is a split, I think I read I do not have to sign in for both, only the first flight right??

Thanks' inadvanced.:)

All you can do is log in exactly at the 24 hour mark and hope you get A or higher B boarding passes to sit together. You line up and board by your boarding number. There are never guarantees on SW that you will sit together, but the higher the boarding number the better the chance of sitting together.

If the flight is 'split' - if you have a connecting or direct flight - checking in once at the 24 hour mark in advance of your originating flight will get you boarding passes for your entire one-way trip. On direct/continuing flights, where the plane stops at one or more intermediate airports but YOU don't get off the plane, once the Flight Attendants have given the go-ahead, passengers on the plane can change seats before passengers in the terminal board.

But if you consider the $10 a convenience fee offered due to the popularity of this SAME service previously offered by persons not connected with Southwest in ANY way, instead of the 'money grab' it's not because it's always optional... ;)
