Dressing up a mason jar?

I have a wide mouthed jar with a plastic screw top lid. I have filled it with a blend of coffee beans and would like to include it with a mug my son decorated for his teacher's end of the year/retirement gift. Any suggestions on how to decorate the jar? Any thoughts on how to package the gift? Any other items you would include?

cut a piece of mat. and place between the rubber part and the lid, then tie a ribbon around neck with a TO and From card on it. Then you can wrap it up in clear cellophane with ribbon or place in a nice bag.
