Dressing Room in Emporium

I was in the Emporium yesterday and noticed a girl talking about putting on and taking off her shirt and pants. I didn't see her at first, but noticed she was hiding behind the coffin. After staying awhile, I realized she was pretending to shop in the store, taking clothes to a dressing room, and talking out loud about taking on and off each item of the new clothes. I told her twice that I thought what she was saying was inappropriate, but she was clueless that what she was doing was wrong.

I reported her because I think anyone who just entered the room to see a text bubble that says "--taking off shirt--" would be offended. Anyone else see this behavior?

I did not see it. However, if it was clear that she was trying clothes on, I think that is kind of imaginitive and imitating real life shopping. For example, you mentioned that buble said, "Taking shirt off." Was that followed by something like, "Trying shirt on" ? Would also be curious if items were purchased. I bet VMK could check that.

However, if what was being done including other inappropriate comments, then I think it was not cool. Hard to say without seeing the entre situation.

i think this girl is one of the ppl who do the taken thing and take it to a whole new level my onpinion she just wants a guys attention which to me is very dangerous. i love vmk and all but i worry. some girls on vmk dont no what they're doing and dont no that some of those boys arent really young, there is probibly one pervert man on vmk looking for victems. but im not saying this to keep anyone off vmk, but to alarm them to be aware and be safe.

I agree it was creative. She concluded by walking to the cash register to purchase her "size for" pants.

However, due to her slow typing speed, all I saw when entering the room was "--takes off shirt--." Since most people make a quick trip to the Emporium to visit Esmarelda or check out the specials, it would be easy to take that comment out of context. I know she wasn't being intentionally inappropriate, but I think it was funny that she didn't even comprehend that what she was saying was embarassing or inappropriate.

When I first read this earlier, I thought that I would not comment. I saw this as a "Pandora's Box". But, I've had time to think about it and want to tell you my thoughts. I want to put this as "gently" as possible as to not hurt your feelings LFD. And after all this is just my opinion. We have all ages playing this game. I've made it no secret that I am almost 50. I have heard things in VMK that have shocked me. The creative way some of these "people" (kids, adults how would you know.) use the limited vocabulary we have got on VMK amazes me. I do not like the "taken" thing or the "mummy" thing either. But,on some of the things you just have to ignore it. I truly feel that this was a child playing store. After all you said she hide behind the coffin to dress. I believe this was innocent childs play, and therefore appropriate for VMK. mewmewpwr, I also want to address what you said. You are very wise for a child. Kids do need to be careful. During the last event competiton, there was someone in VMK that was "inappropriate" saying things to ppl and trying to figure out who were kids, and what this person said was bad. I mentioned this to my husband who is a firefighter and his response was interesting. This person was in a ride room and the other players were trying to report this person. But, all the CL's and staff were riding and judging the event...so, needless to say some ppl were scared and warned others about this person. Well, to make along story short my hubby said that this kind of person knows when they can get away with bad behavior, they watch the system and find the weakness. So, please be careful. I believe VMK has protected our children as much as they can with there rules and limited vocab, the rest is up to us parents.

LOL. I'm glad they weren't in the dis room I was in the other night where they had a bathroom in the corner. They might have been real offended by our nonsense.

I agree with tinkcollector. I think it was just child's play. I mean I know that she was saying "taking off ___". But I mean I dont think she did any harm to anyone around her. If she were to go up to other players and tell them to take off their shirt or to go to the "dressing room" with her, well then that's a different story.

As in what mewmew said, well she's right. Kids should be more careful these days. I know that once I entered middle school, my life changed. I heard and saw somethings that I would never have expected to see in elementary! Us kids should be more cautious; there could be a pervert behind that computer screen and there can be a dirty person trying to have "some fun", thats why we should protect ourselves.

Thanks for all your intelligent comments. I don't know what the moral of this story is - maybe be careful what you are saying in a public place. Maybe don't be easily offended without waiting to hear the whole story.

Or, maybe the Emporium is a good place to buy pants.

Just because she had the decency to not get changed in the middle of Main Street is no reason to report her, though if you walked into a store and heard someone shouting 'TAKING OFF SHIRT' from the changing room you might be a little suprised .

You did the right thing, I think. It could of easily been something ahem, dirtier, so it's better to be safe then sorry.
