We have one Cinderella Princess dress that we bought at the Disney Store for Halloween last year. DD found it very very scratchy. We have a date at the Bippity Boppity Boo Boutique for our next trip and DD would like to dress like Cinderella again. I was wondering if anyone has purchased a costume that is not scratchy? Anyone by one from My Dress Up Trunk? How was is? We will be traveling in Dec so it does not need to be short sleeved. I was just wondering if they are as soft as they say and if they are somewhat nice quality. Thank you.

They are not scratchy at all. DD says they are comfortable too. I do love the look of the Disney ones better but my DD gets too itchy and will only wear for a short time.

My DD wore a Cindy dress that I found at Target when we went in January. (She had to have a long sleeved white shirt under it then, though!)

It was not the slightest bit scratchy.

I haven't found any non-scratchy dresses, but DD does get bothered by the scratchy ones. One trick I do, especially in the cooler months, is to put a leotard underneath the dress -- it's not as bulky as a t-shirt, the scoop neck doesn't interfere with the dress' neckline, and the color usually blends in reasonably well (we use the pale pink color.)

Just another option in case you don't find another dress.

We have one from Target and it is just as pretty, but is not itchy at all. :)

I will check out Target and the leotard idea might just work! Thanks for the info.

We have a Belle one from My Dress Up Trunk, and although not as fancy as the official Disney ones it is much more light weight and not itchy at all. My daughter wears it for hours at a time. They are very cute and reasonably priced, I thought. princess:

All of ours are scratchy but are from disney store or disney on-line. I have my daughter wear a long tank top and that takes care of it.

My girls are dress up CRAZY! I cannot make a trip to Target without both of them in full "fancy" attire (this includes shoes!). They wear them everywhere, and they are in and out of them constantly at home. I absolutely love the dresses from my dress up trunk! We have Cinderella, Belle, Sleeping Beauty and Ariel. They are made with very soft fabric, they are not poufy (but this is a good thing considering car seats, rides at DW, restaurants, etc), but have plenty of sparkle to keep my girls happy. They sell through e-bay (which is how I normally buy because I like the "create your own set" option) but they also have a regular web site to order from.

Have fun!
Lesley
