I've known I want to try on the original AA Ariel dress (style 201) forever. It's my #1 top choice but since it doesn't come in ivory I have to try it on and see how I feel about the white. Back in May or June I contacted a couple of local AA shops (of which there are only a handful in Calgary - less of them carry the Disney line) to find out who had that dress and another one (#2219 if you care) so that I could try them on. My mom is coming out in September (from Ottawa the equivalent of flying from New York to Montana) and so once I had a good contact at a store with both dresses in stock to try I booked my appointment and sat back to wait for time to pass until I get to go shopping. Last night I emailed the shop to confirm they still have both dresses as it's very important to me to get to try them both on and I got a reply back from them saying that due to 'an incident' in the building the building has been closed and is undergoing renovations and do I want to them to contact me 'in a few months' when they reopen. Are you kidding me?!? I had received no communication from them about this prior to me contacting them. What would have happened if on the day of my appointment I'd just driven over there? Now I'm trying to get an appointment for the same day at one of the other shops that sells the Disney line - and it has to be the same day as my mom's only in town for a few days and my sister and I both need the day off from work - and just praying they have that dress for me to try on.
My biggest complaint right now is why didn't they contact all the brides with confirmed appointments to let them know? Keeping my fingers crossed the boutique I contacted tonight has the dress and availability on the right day.
