Dress rehersal for Beauty and the Beast

Wish me luck and send pixie dust for the Monroe Community Players production of Beauty and the Beast. Tonight is dress rehersal and we open tomorrow. Last night was a little shakey. Be our Guest is 7.5 minutes long and 42 pages of music. Belle is beautiful and the Beast is utterly terrifying! I'm playing keyboards in the orchestra pit and I'm having so much fun!

Our high school just did Beauty and the Beast last week. It went great. My DD plays the oboe/english horn in the Orchestra and had a lot of cool parts. Have a Magical Musical. Nancy

MidgeD79 I live in nearbyTrenton and one of our local community theatres (DYPAC) did Beast last November. My daughter was a Silly Girl. The costumes were great...especially the "Be Our Guest" number. Have fun and BAL! Is it at River Raisin Theatre?

How ironic to see this thread! I just got off the phone with my friend, who just came from a meeting of our community theater group, where "Beauty and the Beast" was voted in as our fall musical! I am so excited! Hopefully I will get a part. I'd love to be Wardrobe (or Madame de la Grande...whatever she's called in the show). I mean, of course I'd love to be Belle, but that's not gonna happen!

The costumes were great...especially the "Be Our Guest" number.

I'm so excited! That's what my DD is in. The high school called for 5th graders to take part in that song. She will be some sort of dessert, we just don't know what yet!!!

The show is at the Community College Lazy Boy Center Meyer Theatre. It's brand new and is beautiful. Rehersal went well tonight. There was a wonderful article in the Monroe Evening News today. I'm still pumped up at 12:30 am!!!

Break a leg!!!

My high school is doing Beauty and the Beast as our spring musical. They did 3 performances last weekend and are doing 2 this weekend. One of the directors (also a history teacher in the HS) showed a few minutes of it to my Language Arts Class. It looked wonderful! Of course the bell rang just as they started singing "Be Our Guest". A couple friends of mine are on stage crew and they said the sets are very elaborate and difficult to move so quickly. Its really nice, though. I can't wait to see it!
