I'm trying to figure out what range of dress is appropriate for Cirque du Soliel. Here's the background:
- My youngest daughter is scheduled for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique earlier in the day. We were late booking, and this was one of the few times that was available and an option for us. So, she will be "dressed up". She would like it if the rest of us were more dressed up (as in suit-level for me...), but we don't want to be so far out of range that it's uncomfortable.
- That evening, we are planning to see Cirque, followed by dinner at Boma. I know we would be "overdressed" for Boma. We're fine with that, if we'd be "OK" for Cirque.
- I know we would be some of the only people at Cirque dressed up much, but as long as we weren't totally out of place, it'd be fine. But, if a big chunk of the Cirque crowd is in t-shirts and shorts, we'd probably feel a bit awkward. In that case, we might look at switching from Boma to a fancier restaurant, or trying to reschedule BBB completely just so she feels that being all made up was worthwhile.
So, basically I'm trying to get a sense of what the normal range of dress is for the Cirque show. If it matters, we're going to the 6 p.m. show on a weeknight.
