We just made PS reservations for California Grill in August to celebrate me and DH's 14th Wedding Anniversary and to celebrate my moms birthday which is the day before. We are a group of 6 two grandparents, two parents, 9 and 3 year old boys. Is Calif Grill super dressy or will you find a little bit of everything. We don't want to go straight from the park so we are going to go to resort and clean up first but my dad wants to know what he needs to bring to wear. Since we have never ate here I really wasn't sure what to tell him. What is typical dress at the Grill?? Thanks in advance for your help:)

While you'll see some straight from the parks (although I hear they have started to enforce the dress code to a degree) most people wear resort wear. Slacks and a collared shirt for men, a sundress, skirt and blouse, or slacks and a cute top for women. It's not unusual to spot suits and ties and cocktail dresses as well.

Last meal we had there for night dinning was comfortable/casual.. Nice capris and top with sweater (it was chilly) and nice sandals (not flip-flops), DH was in collar shirt with slacks and boat shoes. Didn't really see anyone dressing to the 9's. Have a great dinner.

I think your description of a little bit of everything is very apt.

We dined there about 4 weeks ago and most men were in shorts that hot night. In cooler months, we see more slacks of course.

If your father likes to dress up, he will feel right at home. If he prefers shorts and a polo shirt, he will be fine as well. In fact in the description of "business Casual," the CM read "business shorts, jeans," etc..

Congratulations. :sunny:

I told my dad I thought that he would fine in nice khaki shorts or pants and a polo shirt. Thanks for letting me know that we were on the right path!! We are very excited this is a place we have always wanted to try. We didn't even attempt to try for a later seating with two children we thought it would be better to eat at 5:30pm then head back to the park if we want to view the fireworks. If the kids were older or we were travelling by ouselves then it might have been different. The CM who took our reservation assured me that it is a restaurant that kids are welcome at and enjoy:) I hope that he is right!!
