Has anyone booked with DU for the Swan versus the Starwood website. When I put my dates in and for what I want the DU price comes out much lower. I guess I am looking for any input on this. I also got a quote for 2 kids. I really didnt know how to do that, we have 3 but I know 3 are allowed, I just dont want the rollaway charge because this time we are bringing our own aerobed. But I do need 3 ids for the ds for the emh etc. Any insight would be helpful, thanks.

I actually found it easier to call the hotel directly. I tried to use the "allears" discount code online at the starwood site, and they couldn't take that. And then I called the Starwood 1-800 number, and they didn't know about the "allears" code. But when I called the hotel directly, the operator was very nice and knowledgeable; she knew about "allears" right away. So I would try calling the hotel directly to see if you can get an even better rate ...

I have used the Dreams site to book with no problems getting much better rates then on Starwood.com or even by calling. (Sometimes it appears Dreams is able to get you the AP rate when it is "sold out" Those are times DU can't confirm at once)

I would call the hotel directly and find out what the deal is with three kids. You may have to pay.

I should say to clarify we have stayed at the swan twice before with the 3 ds so I know I can have them, just I will not request a rollaway and I didnt know how to input that on the du site. Also we have already called the swan directly twice. For one of our nights they directly offered us a rate of like at least $209 and now I see both the du site and the starwood site have it listed as $159 for that night. The cm at the swan wanted to know what the starwood site said, my dh was on his cell and I had not printed it out then, but now I have. So I guess (hope) they will match that now if we call back. Its just driving me nuts on how to book it since 2 of our nights in the stay are govt. rate etc. Last time I booked directly with the swan for the whole stay but it was govt. rate the whole time. This is like so many different rates I am considering. The more dh talked to the swan cm the more confusing it has gotten. I want to book it soon, so I need advice.

I just returned from a trip to the bwv and Swan.I made my Swan ressie
through DU book 1 catagory get a 1 catagory upgrade and late check-out.
The morning of my trip i went to print my conformation wouldnt you know no ink!!!!totally my fault ok when i check in at BWV i will walk to the Swan and check my ressie.Front desk confirmed everything except my upgrade to club level, standard room was not what i paid for and of course i had no print out of my ressie, after many rude front desk many phone calls of course i could not find a DU phone number anywhere !.I went to my room called the swan and told them they needed to fix this situation before my check in day, again they treated me like i was trying to get something for nothing but i held my ground. After 2 hours of wasted time i finally got the room i paid for.Yes this all would not have happened if i printed out my conformation before the day i left,so that said if you go the DU route bring your conformation

Tinksgirl, when you moved from BWV to the Swan, did you have to take your luggage yourself, or did they provide some type of "bell hop" service between the hotels? We are planning to do both hotels next year and I was curious about moving our luggage. Thanks!

I have booked through the website..they have a very funky cancellation policy..we lost our entire deposit, they won't even transfer the deposit to new nights. (and we did not do a last minute cancel).

Even the reservationist said..I would never book over the website, always call.

I have booked the Swan through DU, and the agent e-mailed me his phone number so I was able to talk to him about some special requests. I do remember seeing on the Starwood site a special Internet rate that had a no-cancellation policy. I got a better rate going through Dreams Unlimited.

Boscoj,This trip was without kids or husbands just a few girlfriends
so my luggage was lighter than the norm i had a big bag on wheels
and alot of smaller bags to handle but we made it. The walk is mostly uphill!!

Well here is a little update. DH called the swan, again, this time got a much better front desk cm. He explained what I had on the starwood website and she said if I can prove it, they are honoring it, so I am bringing the printout for that one questionable day. Also we got another $30 knocked off because the internet rate was even lower than the govt. rate for 3 of our days. Its still expensive, but I dont want to count on not getting a code for the poly. I guess we could always change it or do a split stay. But the points twoards our next stay might make me change my mind and stay put.

Hi luvmarypoppins, I have been reading through this thread and wish to offer advise to you and everyone else trying to book the Swan or Dolphin through DreamsRes.

First As far as the roll-away you will not be charged for a roll-away if you DO NOT request it. It is only added if you say you want one for your room. They will then charge you $25.00 plus tax per night when you check in. It is not part of the pricing when you book through DreamsRes. Just go into the booking area and put in the 2 adults and 3 children. If you have special needs or requests, those can be added to your special request area as well.

To clarify webray's point on the deposit. I believe they are talking about the Starwood web site not DreamsRes. The starwood site does have a funky policy for deposits, but that is not the case when you book through DreamsRes. If you book with DreamsRes you are able to cancel the reservation up to 7 days before the travel date and the deposit will be refunded no problem. If you decide to move the reservation to other dates the deposit can be moved no Problem also. If you have a problem DreamsRes gives everyone that books a contact phone number that they can call 24/7.

DreamsRes discount rates do not require a no refund to book the rates. Starwoods does have a no refund policy, making it better to book through DreamsRes.

The rates at DreamsRes are up to date with any discounts out there. I will try and help anyone that is confused by the rates and discounts. If you drop me an e-mail at webmasterbob@wdwinfo.com , I will be happy to answer any questions regarding the Swan or Dolphin hotel you may have.

Sincerely
Webmaster Bob
