Hi everyone. I’ve never booked through dreams unlimited before so I have a few questions. I know that they sponsor this site. I had inquired about a cruise and they got back to me after I already booked my cruise directly with DCL. The quote I got is $200 less than what I got with Disney and they are also offering $300 OBC. We’ve booked all our past cruises directly with DCL. Other than the $500 savings, are there other advantages to booking with them? I am also hesitant because how do I know it’s a real person/travel agent that emailed me and not just some scammer? I hate to hand over personal details/cc numbers and not being able to verify the person’s identity

You do all payments through their website so that’s how you know it’s actually them.

We've been using Dreams Unlimited since our first cruise in 2016. We do it mainly for the on board credit (OBC). If you live in the US/Canada they also mail you a gift basket shortly before your cruise.

With Covid, I am so thankful I used a TA. My 2020 cruise that was booked with an on board booking was cancelled. My TA called for me when I wanted to use the future cruise credit and extended OBB to an 8/21 Fantasy cruise...and then I had her move it to a 6/22 Greek cruise...and then to a 6/22 Fantasy Western Caribbean cruise. My poor TA had to call each time since I'm using an OBB that was originally going to expire in 8/2020.

We have had no issues with payment, it's on their secure site and payment goes directly to Disney from it. I still do my own port adventures/activities bookings. Any room/cruise changes have to go thru my TA. Email works well for me, and I don't expect an instant reply, she usually gets back to me within 24hrs. We've been very happy using DU!

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn’t sure how payment was made, i thought I’d have to email my cc number to her. The cruise that we have booked now is a result of an onboard booking that was made in 2015 and kept being pushed back d/t personal reasons and COVID. Obviously, we lost all the benefits of that booking but just replaced it with a placeholder every year. Can I transfer our current reservation to DU so I don‘t have to wait hours on the phone with DCL? Do I lose the OBC DU is offering if I just transfer the reservation to them? If I call DCL to cancel the booking and book directly with DU how long does it take to see the refund on your cc?

DU does 1/2 the OBC for transfers and OBB due to the reduced commission Disney gives them.

No idea on the rest of the questions, maybe the TA would know?

I can assure you they are a legitimate company, and great people! They have been around for 20+ years I believe it is now, and I personally worked for them for 11 of those years. They are authorized by Disney to sell the Disney product and accredit by the BBB.

Besides your OBC you will also get a gift basket filled with goodies for your cruise, before sailing. And of course, you will always have someone available to answer any questions or help with any issues that may arise.

The quote you got from DCL should be exactly the same as what you got from DU. TA are not allowed to reduce the cost (but they can give ship board credits which they do). If you got a different price you are likely not comparing the exact same reservations. You might want to check the room category, if insurance is included, transfers, etc...

I hope this helps! And I will note before I was an agent I started out as a client, and I am now back to being a satisfied client again. :)

After the deposit is paid, do I have to go their site everytime I make a payment? Or can I just log into my disney account and pay through disney?

As Kate @CamColt said above, they are a very reputable company. In addition to knowledgable agents, the owners are very hands on. You can contact John@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com any time you have issues - which probably won't happen.

You go through their site.

As OKW Lover said you go through their site to make payments. However, when you submit your payment authorization to them you are not paying Dream Unlimited. You are just giving DU the authorization to pay Disney directly with your credit card (or whatever means of payment you are using)...another layer of protection for your reservation. :)

Just chiming in to say we use DU for all our trips—WDW, DCL, and ABD. The service is great and I appreciated the onboard credit on our cruise. But overall, I feel like I get so much from the team for free (the podcasts and these boards, especially), that I want to say thank you by using them and making sure they get compensated for all that they do!

So after spending 6 hrs on the phone with DCL I was able to get through and canceled my existing cruise. I then rebooked with DU and the TA I was assigned to has been very helpful and answered my numerous questions. I have another question but I don't want to bother her again....so I paid the deposit, now what? I logged in to my DCL account and don't see my reservations there. When I tried adding them it says they can't find it. I logged in to DU and the reservations are there.

Your Dreams TA should have given you two reservation numbers. One is the DU number, the other is the actual DCL number. That's the one you need to use when looking up the cruise on the DCL website.

I did use the actual dcl number but I still am not seeing it. It keeps saying my reservation can't be located. Weird. I guess I'll just message her again.

Did you just do all this like yesterday? Because of the current "update" issues, there may be a lag in new reservation information showing up.

Good point. I just canceled the cruise yesterday, rebooked with DU today. Maybe there is a lag in the system. I'm just sad that I'm not seeing any reservations listed. I need motivation to go to work. 😆 🤣

Does Dreams have all of your information? If they don't have your date of birth attached to your reservation, you won't be able to retrieve it.

How can you NOT book with Dreams? The additional On Board Credit is a gamechanger as well as their awesome customer service. Tracey has always booked my cruises.

So agree! Our agent, Beth, is a rock star. I feel for her right now. The website and phones are a mess. We just booked a cruise only two weeks out Using a placeholder. I know she was on hold for hours to book cruises already that day. But she still persevered and called back to get us set up. Stupidly, I forgot to check stateroom reviews before booking. Realized that we were booked in a room right under the fitness center. The reviews were not favorable. So all I did was email Beth and she sat on hold to get everything changed for us. Add in the OBC. No brainer!
