Dreaming Of My Next Trip... Oh Wait It's Here!! The (Hopefully) Live Trip Report!!

DD and DS woke up very excited for today, as it is waterpark day!! They love swimming, I hate to say it, but I think they love it more than the other parks…. Yikes!

We took our time and headed over to the bus stop abiout 9:15. The one negative thing we have noticed about this trip is that the bus service has been extremely slow, more so than we ever remember in years past. Today that trend continued. We arrived at Typhoon just at opening. We headed to the Ketchakiddie Creek area, where there was all the small kiddie slides and play areas… we settled in.

DD took right to the child size tube ride and went down that thing over and over again.

DS took some time to get used to everything and eventually he went down some slides, but was more interested in watching the other kids on the tubes than anything else. Oh well.

DH and I had a chance to take off and do a couple of the bigger slides and the IL’s also took some time alone to float the lazy river. We ate lunch at the park and had a great time. We left around 2:30 and headed back to POP to shower and rest.

Tonight was the night that DH and I were going to meet up with my friend from high school who lives in the area. Before that we had reservations at Chef Mickey’s which I thought the kids would enjoy. Before getting to the restaurant we went to get on thje monorail and got to sit in the front!! DS was very excited! DS, FIL, DD and DH sat in the front (only 4 people can ride up there) and MIL and I said in back. We did the whole resort loop so that DS could really experience riding in the front. We got off at Chef Mickey’s and things went down hill. DS loved it, but DD was terrified of the characters. It was really weird because last time she had not problem with the characters but this time she wanted nothing to do with them, strange. She wouldn’t even eat she was so scared constantly looking around at who was coming next. DS on other hand, loved it. He had lots of interaction with the characters and the buffet was delicious.

After dinner we split up. My friend and her DH were having dinner at the Wave restaurant in the Contemporary. We met them down there and had a drink while they ate.
The plan for DD, DS and the IL was to go catch the spectromagic parade at MK, but not the fireworks because DS hates fireworks. They didn’t end up doing the parade because it was after the fireworks and since DS hates fireworks they didn’t stay.

My friend took us to Universal Citywalk and we met up with another couple she knows. We went to Rising Star karakoe bar. Let me say I was in heaven!! Singing karaoke was just my style, but with a real live band was even cooler!!!!! I signed right up to sing and we sat back and watched some of the other performers. Some good, some not so much. It took over an hour for my turn, but when it is your turn, they put your name up on a big screen and call you up on stage. I was excited but a little nervous. Once I got up there though, it was AWESOME! I sant “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi, and it rocked!!! Unfortunatgely DH forgot to take some photos! :scared1: After we hung out for a little longer and then headed back to POP. A great night and a great chance to catch up with an old friend. We fell fast asleep when we got back to the room… mostly because it was 1am… zzzzzz

Day 6- Charging Rhino's and Mom and Dad's night out.

Going to bed late did not make getting up early easy… but once we heard DD and DS next door in the IL’s room (the walls are thin at the POP) it was nearly impposible to sleep anymrore. So we got up and got the day started. By now we had a good system down, park then back to the hotel for swimming and rest, showers then out again at night. It was working well for us.

Today’s plan was Animal Kingdom. Speaking of plans, by now we have gone pretty much off what I orginally planned out before getting here. I was proud of myself for the schedule I came up with but, with the IL’s here, the extra set of bodies that we can’t boss around as much as the kids have really slowed us down. But it’s ok, we were still having a blast and that’s all the matters. DH and I have all ready talked about our next trip just being the 4 of us for sure, so we can do things “our way”.

We headed out the door for AK. It was a hot one today, going to be near 90 before the day was over. But I can’t complain about the weather, it beats the rain and I’s definitely warm enough for swimming. We arrived at AK a little after 9am.

We headed straight for the Safari, it had a 20 minute wait and we decided to get FP so w could walk the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. DS and DD loved the Gorillas and the bats the best. We didn’t get to see any Hippos though, on this day they were hiding. We headed to the KS and got right on. This turned out to be one of the best Safari’s we have been on. We saw lots of animals right up close and when we were at the Rhino’s two of them were charging at each other and they came right across the road in front of us, it was so cool!!

After KS we headed over to Asia and the Maharajah Jungle Trek. The Tigers were being lazy lying off to the side but we still got a good view of them. After that we went to Nemo the musical. It was cool inside the theater and gave us a good break. About ¼ way through the show DS really had to go to the bathroom, (he uses this as an excuse a lot when he is in siuations that make him nervous)Bruce the shark really freaks him out which is what I am pretty sure cuased this- we usually tell him he has to wait (because most of the time he doesn’t really have to go) but he kept insisting and finally DH had to take him. They didn’t end up coming back in which is too bad because I know he would of loved it once we got past the Shark parts.

Next up, lunch. We headed over to Pizzafari. It was yummy! I love the Apple pie dessert they have here.

After lunch we headed back to Dino land. DD and DS wanted to play some games and DD wanted to ride TriceraTop Spin. When we finished up this we started heading towards the exit. I really wanted to ride Kali River Rapids, but no one else did and the kids were hot and just wanted to swim. We grabbed a snack on our way out and were back at POP by about 2:30.

I ended up takikng only one picture at AK that day- not sure how that happened!

I decided it was a good day to do some laundry. It really piles up fast when your basically chaning twice a day! The kids and DH swam as did MIL, FIL took a nap and I was on laundry duty. It’s nice that the laundry room was right near the pool so I didn’t have to stand there at literally watch it. Though I was not in the mood swim. I decided to take a walk around POP and check out some of the other parts.

After laundry and swimming we started getting ready for our night out. DH and I were going out on our own and having dinner at Le Cellier in Canda. We were really looking forward to this. MIL, FIL, DD and DS were also going to Epcot but having dinner at Askerhaus. Their reservation was much earlier than ours (ours was not until 8:20pm) so they were going to leave before us. DD brought two princess dresses with her and tonight she wanted to wear the Belle dress. She looked so cute, and I was surprised when she ended up keeping it on the whole time they were out.

DH and I headed over to Epcot and walked aroun d for bit, we hoped to sneak onto Soarin’ or get a FP for later, but it was a 60 min wait and the FP were all gone for the day. We decided to ride Spaceship Earth, which niether one of us had done in ages. I love the changes they made to is, and the cool cartoon they make at the end with your picture!

We went over to Le Cellier around 7:15 to just see if they might be able to seat us earlier, theu couldn’t so we headed around the world. We stopped in England and got a drink and then found a bench to sit on in France and just people watched. I LOVE people watching!!! I’ve decieded someday I’m going to take my laptop into a park one day, find a nice shady spot and just start writing about all the things you see. The different people, the way the dress, the way the act, it’s fascinating to me.

We headed to Le Cellier around our reservation time, but they were reunning about 15 minutes behind. While we were hanging out in the gardens I received a text from one of my best friends. Her and her DH were in the process of adopting a baby. (my friend had ovarian cancer and couldn’t have children of her own- she is cancer free now though) The birth mom was due anyday. She texted me to say that the baby had born!!! YEAH!! Levi Joseph! They were going to get to see him tomorrow and they would send pictures. I cried with happiness. It made dinner all that much better. And dinner was amazing! We loved Le Cellier, the food was amazing and the service the best we’d experienced so far. We missed Illuminations, so after we continued around WS.

I love walking around WS at night, it has such a different feel than during the day, I think it’s pretty romantic. And speaking of romance, as we were walking we saw a bridal party, with the bride and groom all derssed up. It was so cool. If I could do my wedding over, I would make is smaller and definitely at WDW.

My DH

We rode Maelstom in Norway and they stopped into “Mouse Gears”. Despite being in WDW for her birthday DD was actually expecting presents, so we learned today. Since tomorrow was her birthday we needed to get her something. I decieded on a Hannah Montanna towel. After that we were dead tired since we were out late the night before, when we finally crawled into bed it was just about 11pm. It was a great night and I’m glad I got to spend some quaility time with DH!!

Day 7- Happy Birthday Gracie!

How fun!! I totally plan on spending some time at World Showcase in the evening with my hubby! So sweet!!

OMG I am just catching up with your report. Sounds like a wonderful trip dispite the few little mess ups and schedule changes. I do understand the tagging along of "non bossed family members" and how it slows you down. And it was great to hear about your friends baby born while you where there. :cutie:

It was great! We enjoyed just sitting on a bench and people watching, something we never get to do when the kids are with us!

Happy Birthday Grace!!! I can't believe my little girl was born 5 years ago today!! It goes by so fast!
Since it was DD b-day we decided she could decide what we were going to do that day. She wanted to go to a waterpark, which I should have guessed. We were going to go to Blizzard Beach since we had done Typhoon the other day.
We gave DD her present which she loved and came in handy since we were going to the water park. MIL also got her a shirt (hannah Montanna- what else?).
MIL and FIL decided to go do their own thing today and were going to go back to HS. I didn’t want to seem to happy but on the inside I really was. It would be nice to just have a day for the 4 of us. We took our time in the morning and headed out to BB for opening at 10am. DD had an appointment at 4:20 at BBB at the castle, so in order to get back to POP change and head over there we figured we had to leave BB by 2 the latest. When we arrived we headed over to Tike’s Peak the children’s play area. We found a spot and DD and DS took off to play.

I ended up taking DD over to the Ski Patrol (pre-teen) area as she seemed to be getting braver with the slides. We did a couple of the tube rides there and she absolutely loved it!

230.jpg

Evetually we DS and DH made there way over and though it took almost ½ the day DS was on a tube heading down the slide! I was so proud of him! This was a big accomplishment for him, because he is afraid of everything.
But once he started doing it he didn’t want to stop.

Go Kyle!
238.jpg

We did manage to stop for lunch and then we hit the slides again. When it started to get nearer to 2pm I told DD we had to go to make it to her BBB appointment. She really didn’t want to leave and niether did DS. I explained to DD that if we stayed, she would miss the appointment and she could not have her hair, makeup and nails done. She was OK with that and we decided to stay. We did more slides and ended up doing teamboat springs! DS didn’t like it and DD made a big fuss before we got on, but once we were riding she loved it!! I was proud of DS for at least trying. We decided to head out close to 4pm , the longest stretch we had done at any park. It was the best day and we truly enjoyed it!

236.jpg

We had dinner ADR’s at 1900 park fare. We headed out the door a little early because I wanted to stop at the Will Call window to get DD birthday gift card, since we were there on b-day but alreay had PH. When we got the Will Call Window, we had a choice of the 67 gift card, all day FP for MK for all of our party or credit to use towards a future ticket with in the next year. We decided on the gift card.

We headed to dinner at GF and 1900 park fare. I love the GF, it’s so beautiful there!

Dinner was good, but we waited a long time to see Cinderella, the others came around quite a bit though.

The highlight of the dinner was the cake I had ordered. When I ordered it I had just asked for a Hannah Montanna screen print, on an 8 inch cake. Now I was expected just a typical round cake with screen print on top, but what we got was so much more than that! Take a look!

255.jpg

257.jpg

260.jpg

The screen printing was actually on a piece of white cholocate and it sat on the cake like a frame. There were beautiful flowers and shaved chocolate on top. It was really outstanding and totally worth the $47 I paid for it. It was delicious too!

We headed out the door for MK. The Spectromagic parade was at 9 and it was just about 8 when we arrived. We decided to scope out a spot and we found one on Main St by the b akery. I took DD into one of the stores as she wanted to spend her birthday card. She ended up buying a light up spining mickey and light up necklaces for her and DS. Nice of her to share.

We waited for the parade to start and made friends with the people around us. It was cool. The parade was awesome and both DD and DS enjoyed it. After it ended we decided to head back to POP and grab a snack.
It really was an awesome day and I think that DD will always remember her 5th day at WDW!

Day 8- Back to MK and Disney Quest

I am loving your trip report so far. :thumbsup2Sounds like BB was a great way to spend a birthday! We have never gone to either of the Water Parks, but after your trip reports we will have to try them out...

The cake looks fantastic:love: Your daughter is going to remember this birthday for a long time :cheer2: What a fantastic day!:cheer2:

This would be our last full day at WDW. I tried not to be too sad, but it was hard. :guilty:
We decided to head to the MK and do the other side of the park we didn’t get to do the first day we were there. We arrived just after opening and headed into Adventureland.
We rode the Jungle Cruise (waiting about 15 min) and walked right onto Pirates of the Caribbean.

DS wanted to ride the WDW railroad again so FIL took him while DH and I got in line for Splash Mounting. DD did not want to try it so her and MIL watched from the bridge. There was next to no wait, (and this was about 11am!) DH and I got totally soaked!! But it was sooo fun!!!

We decided on an early lunch (about 11:30P) and we went o Pecos Bills. I’m pretty sick of burgers at this point, but they do have an impressive toppings bar here, and it ended up being pretty tasty.

Some photos of the kids in silly sombreos!

277.jpg

After lunch DH and I go on the Haunted Mansion, while MIL and FIL take the kids to it’s a small world. I’m not thrilled with this plan as I wanted to do IASW too but I decide not to argue. We meet up with them and MIL and FIL decide they want to head over to Epcot, so they take off and we are free!;)

We head over to Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor. There’s hardly no wait and we get right in. This is a really funny show!!!

By now it’s after 1 and we decided to grab a bench and a snack before heading back to POP. We do some more people watching which is always fun. It was pretty hot today and DD and DS just want to swim, so we head back to POP for that. I end up spending and hour or so packing : -( while they swim.

MIL and FIL return from Epcot and we get in some good pool time this afternoon.
Tonight is off to Epcot and ADR’s at Coral Reef. We have never been here and are excited to try it out. MIL and FIL are less excited as the menu does not have much of “traditional” eats, but was hoping for the best.

We get to Epcot and head over to the restaurant which is totally cool. This ends up being one of DH’s favorite meals. The food was very good and even MIL and FIL really like it! Yeah!

We end up on an adventure after dinner. We wanted to go to DTD and Disney Quest so DS could get in some game time. We leave Epcot around 730.
DS wants to ride the monorail again so we decide to take the monorail from Epcot to the TTC then hop on the resort monorail and get off at the Poly where we can catch a bus to DTD. Not the easiet route but DH and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Poly and dream of staying there. So we’re excited to see it. We get there and it’s all we remember it to be. We even get Lei’s from a CM!

We have never stayed there but after this brief visit we commit that our next trip we will, even if we have to wait 2 years to save up! Yikes!! :scared1:

We miss the first DTD bus because DH and FIL are in the restroom. When we finally board a bus it’s about 830. MIL and FIL decide they are going to head back to POP, so they get off at the first stop at DTD and head to get a bus back. We get off at the 2nd stop and head right to Disney Quest. We only had about an hour before they closed but that was enough time for DS to get in plenty of games, which he did. I wish we had come down here more as this was right up DS's alley. OH well, next time!

When we leave we walk around DTD west side for a while and even go through PI. We are sad that all the bars and clubs are closed and DH and reminisce about the good times we’ve had there in the past.
We did get to see the new hot air ballon ride they have there, it wasn't running (may have been closed for the day) but it looked neat. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture. Sorry!

We grab a snack and head towards the bus stop and are back at POP by 11. A great night and tomorrow it's time to head home.:sad1:
Day 9- The Long Trip Home

I’m sad because we are leaving today. Our flight is not until 5:30 so we have sometime at the parks this morning and decide to head back to HS.
*Disclaimer about this post: I didnt take any pictures today, so no photos, must of packed my camera!

At DHS DD wants to ride TSMM again and see the Ariel show. Yesterday I ended up changing our lunch ADR from Crystal Palace at MK, since DD is now petrified of the characters, to Mama Melrose’s at HS.

Before we can head out to the park we have to check in at airline check in. During the night they left our boarding passes and luggage tags on our door, only DD and FIL boarding pass were missing. FIL and I decided to walk down to airline checkin while MIL finishes packing (I am already done ours) We get there and the ME CM says he can check us now and come down and get all our luggage (we didn’t have it with us) he was super nice. He does all the paperwork and we head back, he is at our door ready to take the luggage 10 mins later. He takes all our checked luggage, plus the Fridge I needed to return to the swap and our carry on’s we want held until later. He was a great CM!

We finally head out to HS around 930. I’m worried we won’t get a FP for TSMM since we have to be back to get on the ME bus by 230. As soon as we get there, DH goes down to get the FP while we shop around in the stores. The FP are for 1225-125. We have lunch ADR’s at noon, so we should be able to get there before 125, it will be cutting it close!

We head over to see the Little Mermaid show and after that ride the great movie ride. We walk around a little and shop and then head to the Honey I Shrunk The kids Playground to let DS and DD let off some steam. We head to Mama Melrose’s for our 12 o’clock ADR. I have never eaten here before and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I love Italian food anyway and the Chicken Parm was amazing! A great meal!

After lunch we head to TSMM and board at 105, 20 mins to spare. We all ride this and everyone gets a kick out of it again! After that it’s time to head back to POP. We get there a little early and let DS and DD play in the arcade for a while. FIL says they still have some snack coupons left on their DDP so DD and I go pick out some treats for the ride home.

The DME bus comes right on time and sadly we area heading to MCO. I reflect a little bit on the ride. There are some things I would do different and others I would not. All in all it was an amazing trip and in my mind I am already planning our next one. (Poly anyone??) We get to MCO and through security, it is SUPER busy and it takes a while, we grab a snack and get to the gate at about 430. After about 15 minutes we find out our flight is going to be delayed about an hour! :scared1: OH the torture of being in Orlando and stuck at the airport! We finally board and are in the air by 645.

Everything with the flight was smooth until we are just about to land in Boston, like litterally we are a few hundred feet off the ground when DD wakes up after falling asleep and starts freaking out that she has to go to the bathroom, we can’t go now because we are about to land and she starts screaming and crying VERY loudly. I feel so bad, because I can tell she really has to go. We land and still we can’t go because we are taxing to the gate. It takes FOREVER to get there, and despite listening to my daughter scream for the last 15 minutes about how bad she has to pee, the minute we stop at the gate everyone is in a rush to get off and no one lets us get through the asile to get to the bathroom. Some people from the back start yelling to people in the front to let us through, and for a minute I thought there was going to be a riot. DD doesn’t quite make it, poor baby, she feels really bad, I tell her not worry that accidents happen all the time. A couple people see me outside the gate after and say they hope she is ok. We get our luggage with no problems and the shuttle to the park and ride comes pretty quick. By now it’s almost 10pm. We have to drive ½ hour south to drop MIL and FIL off, and then another 1:15 north to get home. Won’t do that again. By the time we pull into our garage it’s 12:30. I have to work in the AM (won’t do that again either) and poor DS has school.

As much as love Disney, there is nothing like sleeping in your own bad. I was sad to be home but excited to start planning our next trip. Actually, we've been back about 2 weeks now and DH and I have already decided to go back next year at the same time, and we are going to save extra hard because we want to stay at the Polynesian and do DxDP! Yipee! It really will be a 'dream' trip for us. I can picture it now, using the Monorail to get around, the lush greenery everywhere, the volcano pool... ahhh, I can't wait already! This time though, just the four of us, thought I know the IL had a blast and in retrospect I was really glad the came.

Thanks for following along with me and my you all have safe and happy trips yourselves in the very near future!!!!:wizard:

Thank you for letting me follow along with you on your wonderful trip. Go stay at the Poly. It took us 4 years to save for it but it was well worth it A late happy 5th birthday to Grace.
