I've never done a trip report but wanted to share my family's experience with everyone, especially since I used the information from this board for planning my cruise. Figured it would be a great way to say Thank You
Living in Florida we drove down to PC Wednesday afternoon and stayed in the Four Seasons/Sheraton. Nice hotel and perfect for a quick stay. Nice bar and grill and the aquarium was a good distraction for my daughter and niece. Word of caution, if you order a pizza at the bar and grill, it is big enough for more than 1 person!
We had plenty leftover.
Thursday morning we woke up and drove to the Radission Hotel(where Four Seasons guest catch the Park/Cruise shuttle). I had made shuttle reservations mid April so we were on the first shuttle @ 10:00am. Arrived at the port around 10:30, there was a line but nothing too bad. Went through Security, up the escalaters and to check in.
*Note my arrival time I chose during online check-in was 11:00-11:30. I had no issues with getting there a few minutes early*
At the entrance to the checkin line we were greeted and given a map and a boarding number. We had boarding number 5. (which I was very happy with). We sailed right through the line and checked in and were seated by 10:45.
Around 11:45 they started boarding. By 12:15 we were on the boat eating lunch.
Quick summary of the actual trip - Absolutely great. Busy, crowded but not horrible. We rode the AquaDuck numerous times. Pirate night was great. Dinners were delicious, we were lucky to have great sitting options for all dinners. We had the wonderful opportunity to chat with Crush. The girls loved it. The girls were with us the majority of the time. We dropped them off at the Kid club area for about an hour(that is all they wanted).
Biggest complaint - Nassau, I could do without that stop. We stayed on the boat the majority of the day but decided to get off and take a few pictures and get a tshirt for the girls. I never felt threatned or scared, but I didn't feel comfortable. We got back on the boat very quickly. I've been to Nassau before and it wasn't this bad. Maybe it is the mother coming out of me, but I would not recommend getting off the boat with young children.
Castaway Cay was absolutely beautiful. We almost rented a cabana but didn't and I'm glad we decided not to. We rented the floats and snorkel equipment and relaxed on the beach the entire time.
We stayed on Deck 7 in a room with a balcony. We had connecting rooms with our other party and were able to open up our balcony and have a larger connecting balcony(very cool). Our room was 7086 and I did a room report on it. Our parents also ordered girly themed pirate chests from Shirley and had them delivered to the boat. That was a great surprise for the girls! Plus it gave them a few personal snacks
Feel free to ask any questions!
