This is driving me nuts. I want to go on another DCL cruise so bad I can hardly stand it. I think about it everyday. Thoughts of the ship... Triton's... the spa... Disney Dreams... Wave Bands... all invading my mind! I can taste the filet and souffle right now at Palo. I can hear the musical horn blasts. I can smell the sunscreen at Castaway Cay. I can envision myself looking for my pictures at Shutters. I want to be crushed up against my wife during a lifeboat drill.

Distracted by disboards, vacationstogo, allseastravel, disneycruise, expedia, castawayclub, mousesavers, travelocity. URL madness!

Focused on food, dressing up, food, water, food, sand, food, towel animals, food, room service, food, shows, food, movies, food, silly little free trinkets from the shopping princess, food, surial baths(!) and, of course, desert.

Riding a Segway up top, walking on promenade deck, waking up to the sounds of the thrusters, eating breakfast outside, standing on the top deck at night with the wind in your hair, feeling the gentle roll of the ship, waving to people at the port, standing in line at the excitement builds, getting a rush when your name is announced, and ...

And I'm too busy at work to do anything about it. :(

So I'm doing my work, saving my money, and saying my prayers. Lord willing, and the creek don't rise, I'll be on the Wonder sometime between next March and May. :D

Can't wait to introduce my boys, 3 and 5, to the "cruiser boat".

Mickey, I'll see ya real soon. 'K, pal?

The best cure is to book that next cruise. Then those dreams are really planning! I know how you feel. We came off of #5 this past May and didn't have any plans for another DCL cruise. Then they opened up the 10 day Christmas Cruise and we were hooked! I've got a year to plan and save. Planning is the fun part and we've got an active thread here on the DIS. The saving is going to take work, but we are going to make it happen!

I too am dying to again experience the delight of a 7 day Disney cruise. Although I am now not sure a 7 day is long enough. I feel Disney may need to look at a 10 - 11 day cruise so my needs are fulfilled.
I do get to cruise in Jan., but its not DCL. I guess I too will dream of one day again setting foot on the most magical cruise line afloat and the feelings on magic on the open sea looking for those mouse shaped clouds.

I am sooo glad someone posted about being obsessed with the cruise. My DH is at his wits end with me. I have toned it down a bit. A helpful tip, but some may not care for it, is pray. I finally let go and put our vacation in the hands of my Higher Power. I have it much better than most people. I realized I was being ungrateful for the gifts in my life by not trusting Him.

You really described my obsession to a "T". It was more than a little freaky:D

Dream lovely dreams,

Funny thing about that... Last night, when I wrote my original post about my obsession, my wife was out with a friend of hers. When I got up this morning, she mentioned that her friend gave us a book last night. I read a bit of it over breakfast. It's titled "Pleasing God - Overcome the obstacles that keep you from honoring God."

I suspect if we were to not crave or lust for these gifts, they would be received by us in a special, more meaningful way.

Sam,

I have yet to take a Disney Cruise. We are planning for 2005. I am already researching everything trying to know all about it.
My DH thinks I'm nuts. But after hearing from the rest of you maybe I'm better off not knowing how much I am going to enjoy this. I already obsess about WDW we have been 5 times in the last 4 years.

Am I flirting with disaster here???? Help!

My wife is a Disney nut too. I have a picture of her meeting Mickey at Disney World in Feb. '72. She went frequently with her family and now wants us to go every year. My obsession lies more with wanting to go cruising. Hers is visiting WDW but she'd take the cruise in a heartbeat just to have the Disney experience. Besides, Port Canaveral is so close to WDW she knows we'll likely visit for a couples days since we're already there.

I'm close to caving in to her. I'm somewhere between buying a travel trailer (for extended stays at Ft. Wilderness Campground) or a DVC membership.

I've always thought I'd prefer a change of vacation venue each year, but I also love my wife and want to please her. The kids really dig Disney vacations as well. So I guess the I'll wait until I retire, trade the house for a Winnebago, and see the country then. :D
