Correct, aka the Grand Channel. Most of the ships go through the Canal della Giudecca
Remember that was for an inside cabin. Good prices are also available for outside (and probably balcony too) cabins. On the 11-night cruise, an outside cabin was available for ~$2,000. A great price!I was really surprised at how inexpensive the cruise John quoted was

Was the $2,000 for the 11 night for the insides? And that would be per person, based on single occupancy, right? Plus you've got to figure in air fare to Venice/back.Heck if I got to go to the Greek Islands I might be happy to pay that for a cot in the boiler room. For 2,000 for 11 nights, I might have to tell my son he gets to go to Greece and my honey he gets a vacation from me.
@WebmasterJohn - You are so right! I thought $1,500 for one was good, but $1,500 for two is like you said - incredible!! I did think the jump to $4,000 for a balcony was a massive jump, but I guess that's cause I've only done 2 cruises in my life, and one of those was due to the generosity of a friend taking me on a Disney Cruise FAM.The prices I quoted on the show were for a 7-night Cruise in May 2017 with 'similar' ports of call to our cruise - I couldn't find our exact 11-night cruise in 2017 when I was getting pricing together for the show.
The prices I mentioned on the show were for 2 people - I think I said 'for 2 adults' - not per person - and they included port charges, fees and taxes (not air and not transfers).
I think $1500 for 2 people in an inside stateroom for 7-nights in Greece is pretty incredible - I know you have to add air to that but if you were looking to go 'on the cheap' and you're not the type of person to spend a lot of time in your stateroom it seems like a bargain to me.
Imagine going anywhere on vacation and spending $1500 for 7-nights in a hotel and all your meals included!!!!
I know there was a massage involved, in addition to a fingernail repair and a facial. There were other spa services and onboard shenanigans on Turkey day.
Damn your inside jokes woman.Okay, I have to own the fingernail repair. Broke one artificial nail right across the nail bed somehow on the flight from the US to Italy. Like snapped in two, but still attached. Painful!!! So I did have to schedule an emergency manicure.
It was on embarkation day, though. There were other spa services and onboard shenanigans on Turkey day.![]()
