I was also amazed... my son loves Darth Vader... they came out at the same time as Cars... and walked in a little area just underneath Star tours, they came out around 9:30 am and then again at 11:15 am, that's when we caught them... my son freaked out when he saw him... that's one character I was really happy to get. But they are only out for about 20 min... it was written on our time guide... hope you can also get to see him. Good luck.

when you say time guide, what are you talking about? the guide you get at the parks or is it something else i'd have to specifically ask for or download? thanks for your help! i'm hoping i can make it happen....especially because this trip is more of a trip for me instead of DH. he's excited about it, just not like i am. and i would love for him to get to meet darth!

Yes the white paper that you get as you enter the parks with the park maps... the character meet times and locations are written on it. I don't see why they would take him away, everyone should be able to see a few Star Wars characters all the time not just at Star Wars Week-ends... Again, good luck, it will be a little extra magic for you DH.pixiedust:

Day 13 - Jan 13th

They announced hot for today, 80s, so the kids wanted to do a water park. Out of the 2 water parks, Blizzard Beach was open. We never did a water park, I always thought, well what can we possibly do there. I don't like slides that dumps you in 10 feet of water, but I was willing to give it a try. We packed a lunch and were out the door by 9:30 am.
Since we didn't bring any camaras we took advantage of the Photopass Photographers. I thought they would only be at the entrance, but they were throughout the park.
We rented a locker, changed, put our lunch in it and headed towards a fun day.
The first stop was Cross country creek, a continuous flowing creek, encircling the entire park on tubes. The first step into the water was COLD! But we went ahead and plopped out buts as quickly as possible in the tubes and let the creek do the rest, it was gently and relaxing... OH! look our first photopass photographer, everybody :)

My hubby and B.I.L wanted to do Summet Plumet, a 120 foot high water slide that shoots you down at speeds of 60 mph. So not for me!! So they left and my sis and the kids went to a kids play area, the Ski Patrol Training camp, where we had fun for a bout 20 min.
Then my hubby joined us and said that there was a family raft ride and wanted to give it a try.
So we got up the mountain by chair left, so cool, but you can also get there by stairs. We got to the tip and sat in the huge family tube (Team boat Springs) It was so much fun, that we went straight back up, this time taking the stairs, which was murder on the legs. We also did the tobogan slides and it was time for lunch.
I found a nice pik nik table under a tree (shade please, by then it was hot) and had our sandwiches and cookies. We left our things on the table (water, more snacks etc.) and went for some more fun. I don't know how many times the emn did Summet Plumet, I think 10 or 12 times throughout the day. Again we split up and my sis and kids went in Melt away bay, a gentle wave pool. It was getting late and we had ADR's for Whispering Canyon Café for around 6:30 pm. and had to go back to the room to change and get ready. But there was still time for one more Summet Plumet before the park closes, so we watched and kept and eye out for my hubby and B.I.L. As other guests plummetted down the slide and got up, my sis and I noticed some major weggies ha! It was so funny as they got up glancing here and there reajusting their swimsuits.
And then here come hubby, he clocked a 53 mph ride. And then B.I.L he came out like a bullet and was clocked at 70 mph. I don't know how acurate the radar is, but he was moving.
So my day at the water park was really fun, and next time, it's a must on my list.

Next our diner at Whispering Café...

Day 13 - Diney at Whispering Canyon Café

We arrived for our ADR at Whispering Canyon Café and were seated in about 10 min.
They seated us at a round table in the back corner, away form all the action. My son was upset and not very happy. Our server came around (Susan a.k.a Head of Lettuce) and noticed him all gloomy. She started joking around and he cracked a smile. We all ordered and received our bevrages, I had my Diet Coke and everyone else ordered milkshakes (all you can drink). I hurried and finished my Diet Coke and asked for a refill... Well she brought out this giant jar and put a cloth napkin under my chair, in case I didn't have time to get to the washroom... ha! My son found it really funny and a fun evening began.

There was an other family just beside us and our server (Susan) was making fun of their daughter and our son.

Our food arrived and my son asked for ketchup, well he had to get up and go in the middle of the restaurant and yell for ketchup, I think we received about 13 or 14 bottles. ha! he was having a blast... no more gloomy eyes there.
Then he asked for a spoon to scoop up the whipped cream on top of the milkshake, and Susan responded, You are getting to be more trouble than High maintenance Princess over there. She made the girl come over and sit with him to take a picture, my son was all shy (for once). And she brought him his spoon, a huge wooden one.

They also did the pony races around the restaurant, in all we had a fabulous time and loved it there very much.

(P.S. I wrote a letter to Disney about her, telling them what a great job she does, and they phoned my back the other day to say thank you for taking the time to write and that her manager will get the letter...) She was really great with my son and made our evening one to remember.

After diner, we shopped in the lobby and got the kids charicature done. The man was wonderful and did a great job.
The kids were very tired, they had a fun day at Blizzard Beach and the restaurant, so we headed back to SSR.

The kids were in bed sleeping and also my hubby, I was getting under my covers when I heard my sis yell, I got up to see what was going on. I got to her room and asked if she was ok. She said come and see this... By B.I.L was black and blue from just above the but cheek to almost half his thigh on one side... I started to laugh and said, You think you did just a little to much Summit Plumit today? And then I realized that my hubby did just as much, so I ran into the room took off his blanket and checked out his but ha! ha! No black and blue there, but then again he did not clocked at 65 and 70 mph either. ha!
We all went to sleep, I was still laughing at the sight of my B.I.L's but... ha!

Day 14 - Jan 14th

OUR LAST DAY!!!! WAAAAA!

We got up today and the men and kids went back to Blizzard Beach... my sis and I made them a lunch and told them no Summet Plumet today...and they were gone... We went shopping in Downtown Disney. We walked all the way to Planet Hollywood and had a quiet lunch. I was feeling sad, it's our last day and I did not want it to end. We met back at the room around diner time... we went to Macaroni and Grill and then to Magic Kingdom, to finish our magical stay at the most magical place on Earth... we watched the most beautiful parade in WDW and my favorite one, Spectromagic. The music is so enchanting... after we made our way down Main Street USA and waited for Wishes they way it's suppose to be viewed, in front of the Castle... It was a beautiful night... when the fireworks were over, we took some nice pictures in front of the castle and went on Buzz Lightyear and the Carousel of Progress... it was getting late and we all knew we had to head back to the room... my son was a little upset and did not want to go back, because he knew the next day we were leaving... It was hard to see him look so sad.

wow you had a great time i enjoyed the trip report . i loved those clothes your mother made .they were great

We had a wonderful time... I would really like to try a Halloween trip. But I'm a little afraid of the Hurricains!

Hey sis, we did indeed have a Magical Trip. I know that you are sad but we will go back, it's a PROMISE. It was hard to see Ryan with tears in his eyes when we were in the plane going back but we do have to go back to work to have more and more magical vacations like the one we just had (unless we win at the lottery ha!ha!).

I want everybody to know that my nephew and niece are the best thing that ever happened to my life

Thank you sis for having them. They are truly amazing kids (I do not have kids so I spoil them, kiss them, sleep with them and put my nose in their hair, I find that they smell so good).

Hey sis, maybe you should post pics about the nice masquerade party that you had for your hubby's 40th birthday. People on this board, you should see those costumes that my mother made, totally awesome. See I did not get to go because I had to study for a competition I am applying for at the government (I was not a happy camper because it is the first big party that I miss, I live 6 hours from her) but she sent me pics and she absolutely has to show them. She was an Ice Princess and her husband was the King (of course, after all it was his birthday). I know that it is off topic on this board, but People you have to see them. WHO WANTS TO SEE THEM. :dance3:

Well, thank you for sharing your trip with us! Your kids are so cute.

I would HIGHLY recommend going to WDW during Halloween. It is the best time to go. The crowds are minimal and lots to do. The weather is still warm, but not very humid. My family's favorite is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. There is also the Food & Wine Festival at EPCOT, which we also enjoy. We asked our DD if she wanted to see Mickey during Halloween or Christmas this year. As you can see by my TickerFactory below, she picked Halloween. She loves the Halloween parade and HalloWishes.

We have survived a Hurricane at WDW back in Oct 2005. Disney was not hit very hard, just ended up being a big wind and rain storm. The parks closed during the morning, but reopend only for resort guests by 2 pm. We had the MK all to ourselves. It was great!!

Happy future WDW travels.....

:cutie: This is from my DD to you.

I WANT TO SEE THEM; PRETTY PLEASE! :yay:

I have really enjoyed reading your trip report, and your pictures are fantastic. Your children are absolutely adorable; truly a prince and princess. Thank you for sharing. :)

I'm happy everyone enjoyed it... and I hope those of you leaving for that wonderful place soon have a great time :goodvibes
When I came back from the trip, I invited a few of my daughter's friends to a birthday party... because their Moms had a gift for Shannon and wanted to give it to her. So I rented our local swimming pool and had a small party... After, I was preparing my Hubby's 40th birthday, a masquarade party... it was a success and everybody was really involved, so I was quite busy with writing the trip report and making the decorations and food and preparations for the party... here are a few pics... I'm the snow queen and hubby is the king... My mom is also some sort of queen and my dad a muskateer (sp?) ha! ha! What a fun evening.

These are the costumes of the kids, my Mom also made those, The picture was taking at Halloween, because I don't have any close-up taken at the party, the kids were in a little corner and had a blast on their own making crafts, coloring and playing card games, so I have pictures but not of their entire outfits... ha!

This is where we ate our last lunch before taking the plane on Jan 15th, we found this nice little place driving around and taking pictures of our favorite resort, OKW and Coronado Springs
DSC01333-1.jpg

In all, we had a fabulous time in Orlando... We did things that were new to all of us... I really enjoyed everything that Orlando has to offer.

This was a once in a lifetime trip for us. I learned things on this trip that I will not do again, like splitting my stays, we wanted to see other resorts, so we split our stay between OKW and SSR... My heart is at OKW and I probably won't split a stay again ha! ha! First it's a lot of work, even if Disney takes and brings your luggages to the other resort...

We took our time and had a blast. It's nice to go in low times of the season, but I would really like to see Disney during Halloween time. I saw Disney during Spring in April, and then Xmas in our Dec trip and now we celebrated New Year and my DD's birthday in Jan. Maybe one day I'll be back for Halloween, I would love OCT. 2008..... Let's wish upon a star pixiedust:

Thank you for reading and wishing you all a wonderful trip at Walt Disney World
