I saw the idea on the F&W thread to do a progressive dinner around the monorail. I love the idea, but am wondering what the best of the best are at each hotel? We've eaten at CG several times so we don't need to go up there. I don't see desserts at The Wave, and wasn't thrilled with their apps, but heard the Podcast saying the food is actually quite good. We are a group of four adults going to PFTS on Sat and are looking for something to do Fri night when I know the food booths will begin to be swamped with locals.

Soooo... what would your dream dinner be? I'm thinking drinks, apps, maybe a salad course, entrees, desserts, after dinner drinks? Could take several hours, no hurry, we like to enjoy our food. Since I don't have adrs yet, might need to consider restaurants where we would be able to eat at a bar area. Also, sharing is good.. we're all family and enjoy "tasting" menus, even if we have to come up with them ourselves. Adventurous eaters all... Bet YOU'VE never eaten smoked squirrel! :snooty:

we have only ever done 'drink around the monorail' so I can't really help with your true question, but I just wanted to let you know that we have gone for the past 3 years I believe to F&WF to eat at the booths on a Friday night and the crowds are not bad at all. In fact, we go specifically on Fridays b/c that is EMH and once Illuminations ends, the World Showcase empties out.

The Wave does have desserts and they will serve desserts at the bar. And the bar appetizers look awesome.

If it were my group of friends going, this is probably what we would do:

Pre-Dinner Drinks: Tambu Lounge for a Lapu Lapu

Starters: Narcoossee's for Calamari or Butternut Squash Soup

Starters cont.: Tony's for Spinach and Artichoke Dip or Tomato and Mozzarella Salad

Aperitif (a.k.a. our fancy excuse to drink more  ): Outer Rim for a Raspberry Mojito

Entree: Kona for Macadamia Nut Mahi-Mahi and Shrimp and Scallops

Dessert: GF Cafe for Mini-Desserts

Dessert cont.: Main Street Bakery for Ice Cream Sandwich

Finish: California Grill for Cheese Board

Nightcap: Tambu Lounge for Raspberry Champagne

Then roll out to the car and let the designated driver take us home and put us to bed. :lmao:

MadameMim, I never thought about including MK! Brillant!

Not sure why I didn't think of it, but a cinnamon roll in time for Wishes would be great!:goodvibes Ahhh... my happy place.

Of course, I can do many desserts....

my brother has been to one of these things once - a home version and it sounded great.

to do it around MK would be FANTASTIC and would be something that we'd think of doing when our dd is much much older.

Drinks - Tambu Lounge at the Poly
Appetizers - Citricos at the GF
Bread - Kona at the Poly
Entree - Kona at the Poly
Dessert - Trio at the Wave

Thanks for the ideas, but I'm convinced there could me more.... thought I'd bump this for the weekend crowd to give it another go.

Now that we leave in 19 days.....!!!! I'm really wanting to get more excitement about this idea!
