Dream horn official: "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes"

I made it myself. I make an mp3 of the audio from the youtube video, edited it down to just the horn and converted it to a ring tone. Not the best quality but it will have to do for now.

Ok, way beyond my technical ability... how do I do that? Or can you post it somehow? I'd love to download it to a ring tone!

(yes, I got choked up listening to it too!) :lovestruc I really hope she plays "A Dream is a Wish your heart makes" on a regular basis (and not just for the float out)! And I hope I get to hear her call out to the other ships! (I'll have to take extra tissues!) Can't wait 'til next October!

Hello I know this seems to have been talked about a bit actually but I would like to add my opinion on this matter if I could.

I was sitting this morning watching the videos that have been posted and I noticed something a little interesting that I would like to share.

First off I am a music teacher so I when I hear the horns I immediately think of the notes how it would go. So people who have said that its off key or something, yes i have heard that. But I am not pretending to know everything or be better then anyone here because of my music ear (so please dont flame me this is just my 2 cents). Basically what I noticed is that when the Dream played "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" did anyone else notice that it did not repeat the first note but it seemed to have held it a bit longer? I noticed this because in the music A and Dream are the same note just repeated so something hit me as to really the sound its playing is (A) "Dream is a wish your heart makes"
Where Im going with this is this,
"When you wish upon a star" "Makes no difference who you are" and (A)"Dream is a wish your heart makes" are all the same amount of notes. So Does anyone else think that maybe the Dream is able to play all 3 of the songs? I know there was a press release that said the first two were official and well It being Disney they do like to surprise people so would it really be that far fetched that they just kept it a secret about the 3rd tune? I think that with a name like Dream it is appropriate and basically with all the money Disney has spent and well because it is Disney I wouldnt put it past them to actually have made it possible for the ship to play all 3.

I hope this makes sense and you get where Im going with this. Please feel free to comment

Uhmm… sorry you are a little mistaken, it did repeat the first note to "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart makes"…

Here's proof…

Go play it from 0:48 and you'll hear it loud and clear! :thumbsup2

Wow! Really clear on that one! :thumbsup2 I watched/listened to one of the other links (view from the side) and the song itself was more clear, but I think that in this one from the front the horn is a lot more clear. I'm such a sap, I got all choked up listening! (I was telling my kids about it this morning on the way to school, and my 12 year old's eyes got big - not because of the horn, but because he couldn't figure out why Mommy was getting all choked up....)

Ok you techno-babes..... :worship: I know someone knows how to do this.... how can I copy the horn from this one and make it a ring tone? (someone else did it, but I have no idea how to do that) :confused3

I can make one for you... PM me later :) It's a piece of cake lol

some previous poster mentioned about a press release from a couple days ago saying how the dream will in fact play "when you wish upon a star" just like the magic and wonder in addition to a new addition only for the dream being able to play ".....makes no difference who you are" so she will be able to respond back to the magic or wonder out at sea. :cool1:. and i read about those also, so those 2 horns have already been confirmed. but we will have to see if "a dream is a wish your heart makes" is one of the regulars like the above two when she starts sailing in january

Now this just gave me the chills...I thought the "Dream" horn sounded a little whimpy (my interpretation) in comparison the Magic and Wonders...but this would be an amazing horn dual if they do this. Then again..it may sound 100% different for the better when on board!:goodvibes

Interesting... In that article it said

"The ship's horn featured prominently in "Sail Away," the line's popular bon-voyage deck party, is getting a makeover. It'll toot not just the first line of "When You Wish Upon a Star," but it'll be able to answer with the song's second line: "Makes no difference who you are." The result? Disney Dream will be able to answer a passing DCL ship's call."

Would that make it official... from a DCL Press Release?

Hey KS929 I see that I was mistaken and Im sorry there is a repeat. Basically I was just saying that it may be possible for the Dream to play 3 or even more songs. With 8 horn funnels all set to different pitches like a scale in music there may just be that chance. I dont care either way because DCL blows everyone else away with there horn no matter what horn it is I just wanted to throw in my opinion and think it would be very cool if The Dream can play more.

From the DCL Twitter page:

"Disney Dream approaching bridge over Ems River at Weener, Germany. Horn played 1st notes of "Be Our Guest" for spectators."

whoah.

We were told by someone from the Meyer Werft, that until the Dream isn´t officially handed over to Disney they are not allowed to play the official Horn. But because she is able to play more tunes, they playing around.
