Dream horn official: "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes"

So does this mean the ship has 3 different tunes it can play? "When you wish upon a star" "Makes no difference who you are" and "A Dream is a wish your heart makes"?

Time to upgrade the Magic and Wonder! 1 horn can not compete with 3!

Isn't "When you wish upon a star" and "Makes no difference who you are" the same tune?

Has disney officially announced it?, no, so I'm willing to bet that the 7 horns play the same notes as the Magic and Wonder, but this time they can control the order in which they play, making different songs. It would be quite strange to use a different horn than the other two ships.

I'm sorry… but you don't have to be so cocky about it…

some previous poster mentioned about a press release from a couple days ago saying how the dream will in fact play "when you wish upon a star" just like the magic and wonder in addition to a new addition only for the dream being able to play ".....makes no difference who you are" so she will be able to respond back to the magic or wonder out at sea. :cool1:. and i read about those also, so those 2 horns have already been confirmed. but we will have to see if "a dream is a wish your heart makes" is one of the regulars like the above two when she starts sailing in january

this is via Cruise Critic :goodvibes:
"The ship's horn featured prominently in "Sail Away," the line's popular bon-voyage deck party, is getting a makeover. It'll toot not just the first line of "When You Wish Upon a Star," but it'll be able to answer with the song's second line: "Makes no difference who you are." The result? Disney Dream will be able to answer a passing DCL ship's call'

There are eight whistles on the Dream. I have heard it can do several different tunes (according to reliable sources within DCL).

Thanks for sharing the link - I think the new tune fits very well for the Dream. :goodvibes

However, I can't help grinning from ear to ear when I hear the horns blast out "When you wish upon a star". :cloud9:

If I was ever on one of the ships and was able to actually witness that, I would be bawling my eyes out. Just the thought of it makes me tear up. That is too cool!!!

Only 255 more days until I'm on the Dream!!!

I think its perfect. I love that it will be able to answer the Magic & Wonder. Too cool. Does make me very curious about what the Fantasy will use!

The concern I would have is that this tune is not nearly as universally recognized as "When You Wish Upon a Star" is.

Might have a lot of blank faces!

lol… yeah. I hope I witness that too!!!!

I still have 292 days left… :sad1:

I can't wait though!!! popcorn:::banana:popcorn:::banana:popcorn::

ppl ask the crew if they live on board the ship...those who don't know just aren't gonna get it, but anyone who even remotely has some Disney heritage is gonna recognize the tune I think

I guess the first time I heard the "The Wish Up on a Star" horn I was totally hooked for ever.

I think that at the end, Coastgurds and Cruise Ship Regulations will have a matter in the subject. Too many special permits for DCL: The actual horns, the Micky colors, the fireworks, etc... And now a new song for The Dream !

My opinion is the the Dream and The Fantasy will be able two play both.

Either way, they are both espectacular.

Happy DCL Sailing.

I don't think that that is true. Well, perhaps for those of us that are older (and grew up with the Disney tv show), but I'm thinking the for the younger folks, more have seen Cinderella than Pinocchio. :confused3

Hello I know this seems to have been talked about a bit actually but I would like to add my opinion on this matter if I could.

I was sitting this morning watching the videos that have been posted and I noticed something a little interesting that I would like to share.

First off I am a music teacher so I when I hear the horns I immediately think of the notes how it would go. So people who have said that its off key or something, yes i have heard that. But I am not pretending to know everything or be better then anyone here because of my music ear (so please dont flame me this is just my 2 cents). Basically what I noticed is that when the Dream played "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" did anyone else notice that it did not repeat the first note but it seemed to have held it a bit longer? I noticed this because in the music A and Dream are the same note just repeated so something hit me as to really the sound its playing is (A) "Dream is a wish your heart makes"
Where Im going with this is this,
"When you wish upon a star" "Makes no difference who you are" and (A)"Dream is a wish your heart makes" are all the same amount of notes. So Does anyone else think that maybe the Dream is able to play all 3 of the songs? I know there was a press release that said the first two were official and well It being Disney they do like to surprise people so would it really be that far fetched that they just kept it a secret about the 3rd tune? I think that with a name like Dream it is appropriate and basically with all the money Disney has spent and well because it is Disney I wouldnt put it past them to actually have made it possible for the ship to play all 3.

I hope this makes sense and you get where Im going with this. Please feel free to comment

Not 'universally known'?? That will be remedied in short order rest assured!!! That ship won't be in the states a month when EVERYONE will know which is which (and can probably sing the 2nd line (or More) too!!!
