Dream Deck 6 Mid Is lifeboats in way of view?

We're in room 6100. Do the lifeboats run all the way up and down the ship? I'm thinking we're probably out of luck, as our cruise has been sold out (of any type of cabin I could afford) for a while.

We're just of the Dream (June 12th) and we were in 6612. Because of the position of the lifeboats, I wondered if anyone (on any deck) could actually see straight down?? We loved our view--although, in the past--on different ships--we've been able to watch dolphins swim alongside the ship. Most definitely could not do that on this ship, in that cabin.

We were on the Dream 6/3 in cabin 6556. No problem with the lifeboats unless you want to look straight down. Didn't even notice them when sitting and looking out when docked or at sea.

We will be in 6564 in Jan (any stateroom reports?). If our view is like yours, I can't see the life boats being an issue for us. Thank You for the picture.

I have Room 6566 booked for the Fantasy but it looks like it is directly over a lifeboat. How much in the way is the lifeboat. I can't tell from pictures. I don't know if we should move our room up a deck?

Please help:thumbsup2

We were in 6566 on the Dream and the view was fine. Enjoy!

My husband said a good feature of the lifeboat being straight down is if our DD-4 decided she wanted to go swimming she would land on top:laughing:

We're with you! This will be our first cruise and we're midship, deck 6. We definitely wanted a verandah, but I was a little uneasy as a first-time cruiser with an active pre-schooler and two pre-teen boys!

Great photos, JohnPA - thank you!!!

We were in cabin 6568 midship on the DREAM in April and yes if you stand up on your verandah right by the railing and look down you will see the yellow lifeboats. This didn't bother us at all. 6568 was a great location right by the midship elevators. We spent a lot of time on the verandah just sitting at the table & chairs. On Castaway Cay day we watched the parasailers take off from their boats. Very nice location.

We were in 6580 a few weeks ago, and though it didn't bother me much, it bothered me enough that I'll avoid deck 6 from here on out. Maybe it was because I'm used to the Wonder, but I like being able to look straight down.

I have no idea as to why I do, but alas, I do. :)

We will be in 6556 on 7/19 do have any pictures of the stateroom and what the view is like looking straight down? Thanks

I was thinking the same thing (nothing like a little extra peace of mind)

Actually, one of my biggest trepidations about cruising was I was afraid one of my kids would climb the rails and go overboard but when I started posting here I learned about the safety plexiglass- and lock for the veranda door. Not to mention, I read all the 'overboard incident reports' and not once was it a little kid.

Howdy neighbor!:)

That's the connecting room our friends will be in (we are 6564) Any noise issues?

I know you cruised awhile ago but these are the rooms for our cruise in April --anything you can remember that you liked/disliked? Any issues with the lifeboats? Any pics?

We were midship on Deck 7 and this was our view from our verandah:

Hi there! I know this is an old thread...but I'm looking for pics taken from midship verandahs deck 7. I just booked room 7580 on the Fantasy and am worried about the life boats...I can't see your pics for some reason. Would you be able to repost them? Thank you!!!!

.... I'm torn b/w trying midship or moving aft to avoid the lifeboats.

You are fine with 7580 cabin. Stay mid IMO. Mid is great if the seas become angry.

Aboard you will have plenty of fore and aft movements to satisfy your fascination for migration.

Although at peak times, it may be easier/quicker to use the stairs/halls, or travel to fore or aft lifts.
To avoid the busy Midship elevators during peak times.

Enjoy your sailing.

IOW stay with 7580. Haven't you heard about the aft vibrations?

I am motion sickness prone and I prefer midship. The lifeboat didn't really bother me much. You usually look out on the verandah, not looking down. There is not much to see looking down. I was worried about it at first but it was ok. I was on Deck 6 right above a life boat.
