Hello!!! We just recently upgraded to concierge. I'm soooooo excited!!! I know there are tons of threads about it but my search function has disappeared. So I'm hoping you guys can help. We are in cabin 12016 which looks like a pretty good location. Anyone who has done concierge on the Dream and anyone who has been in that cabin, I would love to hear your experiences. What you loved or didn't love. Things I should make sure we do. Thank you so much!!!!::MickeyMo::MinnieMo

I haven't been in that cabin but have been in concierge, make full use of the concierge lounge there is food and drink thee from 7 am to 10pm, hosts will be in there as well. Discuss any needs you have with them. Thee is pre meal drinks and they will fuss over children. There is a private sun deck and there will be a concierge meet with a character in attendance.

Haven't been in that cabin either. But you will have a great time. Once you go concierge you never go back!!! We are going to be in a 1 bedroom on the dream next week with a connecting concierge verandah room!!!!

Thank you!!! I'm excited for the private sun deck and my kids will love being fussed over. It all sounds great!!!

That's what I'm afraid of! I'll be spoiled and want to stay that way :flower1: I'm very excited!!! Have a great time on your cruise next week!!!! Yay!!!

We weren't in that room, either, however like the others said, do take full advantage of the concierge lounge. DD and I would go in for the cappuccino and coffee, and DH and I for the drinks at night. The staff are sooooo very wonderful and accommodating. You'll fall in love with them and they are happy to serve you and chat. Am wishing I had taken advantage of the snacks more - lol, but you eat so much on board! You'll have a blast. We took part of the private character greeting and got a special lithograph, which we framed. If you're going to Castaway Cay, do take advantage of the onshore concierge service to book any excursions that you want...we were lucky enough to score for a cabana on Castaway Cay and we did the jet-skis. SOOOOOOO much FUN!!!!!

On debarkation day, we decided to miss the hustle and bustle of the last breakfast and we just ate the concierge's continental breakfast. It was a godsend for us. They then escorted us down to the exit to another escort....it was easy, yet so sad....

Sorry, I disagree. I've had NO issues going back at all. I don't see the need to pay all that extra for stuff I either don't use or need (cabana I am looking at you...no reason for those for me) or can easily do on my own. You're on the same ship, and unless you ONLY stay behind the now non-existent concierge gates, you're going to have the exact same experiences on the ship that everyone else does. Same shows, same MDRs...

I guess there are some people who get in their heads they can't go any other way. But there are also more than a few of us who said "Been there, done that, no need to do it again." And we can generally get more cruises in because we're paying so much less! :)

The room is what makes it nice, its nice having the kids in one room on the pullout couch and murphy bed and us in the other. I am referring to the 1 bedroom. This coming trip my in-laws are coming that's why we have a connected room.

Yes same MDR food same Shows but a lot more " extras" many not advertised.

BUT not everyone needs or wants those extras. And some of us HAVE cruised concierge and learned that we don't need or want them - especially when we can pay much less and cruise more often! :) It just irks me when people say "Once you sail concierge you'll never sail another way" because there are lots of us who DO even after trying it. That is the point I'm trying to make. I did briefly consider it for my Feb 2016 Wonder cruise just to see if I really missed something when my dad booked concierge on the Dream in the summer of 2013. It's only just less than double my 4B cabin, and less than what I'd been pondering on the Fantasy 9B. But honestly the only thing I'd miss is the drinks (not even sure they have those on the Wonder), and even then there is NO WAY I would drink close to $1200 worth of drinks. I have no desire to ever get a cabana (heck, the price of that is like half the price of another cruise!), and I don't really need or like having my hand held and being fussed over. "I'm a big girl. I tie my own sandals and everything!" (I've said before when we were concierge, I went into the lounge at some point on Nassau day to get a can of diet Coke - maybe 2 so I could put one in the fridge - and the host was so happy to see me - or anyone in our cabin - ask for something, he grabbed as many as he could carry and took them to our cabin.) So no, it's never going to be worth it for me.

Don't assume that just because you sail concierge you will never be able to sail "commoner" again.

I'm with dug. I can take concierge or leave it. We've now cruised four times on Dream. Two were concierge and two weren't. One was even an inside cabin. It has all been just fine.

I actually spend more time enjoying the ship and the overall cruise more when I don't have the lounge. Come off the concierge cruises and all memories are of the lounge. Off the inside cabin and the "large porthole with seating" room cruises and I remember the cruises.

There's no need to fear you'll never be satisfied any other way. You might be like me and dug. For me, whatever gets me on the ocean is most excellent.

I, so far, have also never sailed concierge when it's more than a few hundred over what we would have booked. And cannot see a time I ever will. If our category V is too much for what we get/use/care about, we go to the stateroom that meets our financial needs.

I'd also like to state that the famed cappuccino machine doesnt make coffee that pleases everyone. I was so much happier with my Vista Cafe lattes than the machine cappuccinos in the concierge lounge.

I can see it upsets you, but they were only expressing their opinion, they are entitled to that opinion like you are entitled to yours, I can swap between the two, If i booked a four night cruise I wouldn't go concierge, it's the same as flights I switch between first upper and economy. All it is is if someone wants to pay more for extras, that is it. It is not saying or commenting on any other deck or room.

Exactly. We can all have our opinions. And in the end its the person who books it money and no one elses. You do what you want.

We will be in cabin 12016 in 12 days. I'll take pictures for you.

Our prior Dream cruise was in cabin 12516 which is the same location but in the other hall. I absolutely ADORE concierge. My family loves the sky deck. There's no pool or hot tub but it's really quiet. On the busiest day, we saw 3 or 4 other families up there. We took full advantage of the bottled water in the lounge. The concierge treatment starts as soon as you get past security at the port. Very minimal wait. You won't want to go home.

My "I'm a doofus" story - When we arrived at the room, there was a fruit basket waiting that I hadn't ordered. I wouldn't let my family touch it because I didn't believe it was really for us. My husband asked the room steward who assured me it was just a gift from Disney.

Yes the fruit bowl is normally your first gift of food from DCL

Thank you for this! There is a lot to look forward to in concierge and I'm planning on taking full advantage of it! :) This isn't normally something I would do but I'm turning 40 this year and decided to treat myself. The convenience and all the extras will be really nice. We've sailed before and loved the Dream without all the extras but am going to splurge this time and enjoy every minute of it. If I can't ever sail concierge again it'll be fine. Eating breakfast in the lounge on debarkation day is a great idea. I like the idea of avoiding the hustle and bustle. Also, I would love a cabana on Castaway Cay if I can snag one :cool1:

Anyway, I'm extremely loopy from all the cold medicine I've been taking so I better go lay down.:faint: Thanks again!

Yay!!!!! I would LOVE pictures!!!! Thank you!!!! You are so funny! I would have TOTALLY done the same thing with the fruit basket. So I'm a doofus too!! Now I'll know we can eat it!:rainbow: I'm really looking forward to the sky deck. My kids will too and the snacks and drinks in the lounge.

I hope you have a GREAT time on your cruise!!! Can't wait to hear all about it!!!
