Dream - August 29, 2013 - 3 Night Bahamian Cruise

PS : Do we need to worry about Hurricanes :offtopic:

No hurricanes!! Or at least I can tell you my family won't be on the ship this time if there is one in the vicinity. I sailed on the Dream with my five year old son last October during Hurricane Sandy. It was NOT fun, even though we were some of the lucky few who were not seasick.

I specifically requested that there be no hurricanes for this cruise! :)

I'm also curious to hear more ideas for things to have signed at GS. We did a photo mat and a pillow case last time but this time we will be doing a large white wooden letter "R" that we got from Michael's to hang in my DD's bedroom and possibly either an ornament (if I can find one that looks like it will work) or a plate.

Wow :scared1:

Firstly I would like to thank Lissa for co-ordinating everything.

My comments would be that we actually prefer the shorter list. This is because we are coming over from the UK and for us the cruise comes at the end of a three week trip to Disneyland California and WDW so we don't have that much room in our suitcases! ;)

Finally I hope we can all meet up as arranged and remember we are all their to enjoy ourselves.

Jon

I am also jealous of the long UK holidays. A three-week Disney trifecta! We made our first trip to Disneyland last summer, going to meet up with my brother and his family who is stationed at Fort Irwin, California. Did it as a surprise trip for my son and nephews. Lots of fun! We enjoyed comparing the rides that are at both parks (have been to WDW many times but only once to Disneyland). Carsland is so awesome! Even my non-Disney loving hubby loved Radiator Springs Racers!

Whoa, looks like I've missed a lot not checking in here...I'm more of a Facebook junkie. ;) Just wanted to thank Melissa again for coordinating the FE list. My family and I are very excited for our first Disney cruise FE experience. We are excited to meet everyone soon. And let's Keep Calm and Cruise On. :)

I have not had much time to look, but has anyone found a navigator for a recent 3 night cruise? I have never done a 3 night and I am curious as to how the activities are arranged.

Here's a link to some recent Personal Navigators from the 3-day cruise.

Lots of details for those of us that like to do lots of planning before we go!

Tim, here is a link to some Navigators from a June 3-day. I also have the ones from ours in October, 2012, but they are very different because we ended up with a 'cruise to nowhere' and most of the outside areas were shut down for the duration of the cruise. I ahve been wanting to compare the two but haven't had a chance to yet.

Thanks likewise we have been to WDW many times. We are also looking forward to comparing rides and going on new ones not at WDW. Our two daughters have never been before and last time myself & DW went DCA didn't exist! Really looking forward to World of Color.

DW & DD's have started preparing FE's today as its less than three weeks til our adventure starts.

Thanks for re-posting that link. My 14 yr old nephew did not enjoy Edgeas a 12 or 13 yr old last year (he reported that the teen program on NCL was WAY better). Now, he is moved into the older teen group (Vibe) and I must say, I am surprised by some of the actitivities. Super sloppy science for 14-17 yr olds? The same super sloppy science he has been doing since he was 5? I hope some of the other activities at least have a teen revision to them to make them more age appropriate or he isn't going to enjoy it. I think he will like that Vibe has that pool area all to itself, though. That will be fun for the teens to hang out at. I told him about the teen wild side excursion on Castaway cay and he said that sounded good so we booked that.

The programs for younger kids sound similar to years past (and were always wonderful). This will be our first experience with the whole open house activities and one side for families/other side just for the kids. I didn't like that concept when it was described but the timing doesn't look too intrusive. Did anyone who cruised with kids recently find that the "drop-off" side was too over crowded? Or that the "helicopter" parents were in full force on the open house side?

Five weeks to sail away :cheer2:

And just watched it leave on the Port Canaveral webcam

I would think that as we're sailing so soon that they'd mail them out to you right away now that you've completed check-in. This time four weeks from today we'll be enjoying our first night on board. :cool1:

Rental cars to/from port booked! Nights booked at All-Star Sports for after cruise. Now to find hotel near the port for Wednesday night before the cruise and finish my FE gifts!

I'm going to start a little packing this weekend. Anyone else started?

I have my outfits laid out but havent packed yet. So thankful for tax free weekend, doing some cruise outfit shopping today and tomorrow.
