Just back from a 5 night sailing on the Dream; our first cruise was a 4 night on the Magic in May 2024. Some comparisons:
Magic Pros:
Magic Pros:
- Felt great for a first time cruise. Smaller size was not overwhelming and overall felt less crowded
- Perhaps unpopular opinion - like Animators Palate show better on the Magic than the Crush experience on the Dream
- Rapunzel’s Royal Table restaurant - maybe my favorite restaurant I’ve ever eaten in! LOVE the pesto pasta and the show!
- Disney Dreams show is a 5 tissues needed experience in the best way
- Sports deck - shaded on front of ship
- Castaway Cay not as crowded due to smaller number of people on the ship
- Like Aquaduck better than the Aquadunk (my 9 year old would disagree) - not as terrifying, more inclusive re: height requirement, and love the view of Castway Key while going down Aquaduck!
- Midship Detective Agency - what a great way to explore the ship and have fun together!
- Remy - holy crap on a cracker, life changing food
- Beauty and the Beast show - amazing production value and love that they used songs from live action version
- Expanded adult only area with lots of room for sunbathing on the top deck
- Mini golf on sports deck
- Palo - awesome experience in both
- Ship Layout - Dream felt like a bigger version of the Magic, felt intuitive after being on the Magic
- Rainforest Room - smaller on the Magic, but quieter due to no thoroughfare to get to hot tubs as on the Dream - pros and cons to both
- Marvel areas in both kids clubs
- Shopping - additional jewelry store that is too expensive for me to ever go into on the Dream, other than that shops felt the same only bigger on the Dream
- Adult only pool on both ship feels a bit claustrophobic with walls on each side - felt it limited the sun exposure/openness and made it feel small
