Dreading and loving thoughts of my upcoming trip!

So is anyone else as nuts as me? We have gone to WDW every year for quite some time now. Our next trip is coming up FAST! 10 nights at the Wilderness Lodge, from August 22nd through September 2nd. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Or can I? Good heavens, I just realized that once the trip is here, it will be over all too soon, and summer will be OVER as well!

So does anyone else out there go through this? Can't wait for the trip, but are already dreading it being over!!!!!!!!

Absolutely. I always think of the "monorail" at Orlando Airport (the one that takes you from where you got off the plane to the main terminal). As we're getting off that monorail, it's one of the single most exciting moments. But I always look at the families getting ON to go back to the planes to fly home and I say to myself "wow, in just a week, that'll be us." Too sad to contemplate!

Us too, but it doesn't matter, the thought of driving away from the place still saddens me, a grown man of nearly 44 years old, more than you can imagine!

Yes we are there for 10 days and the thought of leaving is. We will be there 8/27 to 9/5. The next day my oldest starts K.

I always have the same problem...14 trips and it never gets any easier. If I don't have another trip planned by the time I leave I pretty much go bonkers when I'm home...it's really horrible to not know when I'll be back...luckily I have another trip booked after my August trip, and that one's in October, so hopefully it won't be too much torture

Absolutely and now that our visits are no longer annual or every 11 months it is even harder. We have a cruise booked immediately upon leaving WDW the first of November - planned it that way as it is easier going home post cruise than post Disney. But, then I will have all of that winter to contend with.... Back to living in the moment and enjoying the summer while she is here!

I am getting depressed about my trip ending when it didnt even start.
Post Disney blues are horrible! The trip will be over and so will the summer
But you know how to cure the Disney blues right????? Book another trip!
I usually book a bounce back so leaving seems a little easier, although I am the grown woman on the magical express bus on the way back to MCO with tears in her eyes

Totally with you in every way. I have been counting down to my trip all summer. Will be at the WL from 8/20-8/27..AND I know that once we come home it will be back to the school routine and as a substitute teacher back to work for me

I understand how everyone feels. We always go in December and I find that helps because we area always home for Christmas and that keeps us busy, then the depression sets in and then I realize we have less then a year

This year we weren't sure if we would be able to make. We always drive to Disney which helps with the cost so that we are able to go every year. We are planning a Disneyland trip next year and want to save for that (we never take trips unless they are all paid for before hand).

120 days until we leave for our drive to visit Mickey & Friends.

Wow! I'm so glad others feel the same way! We always go in August and we plan non-stop all summer for the trip. Then we it's over we have nothing to look forward to but summer ending and back to work. I always feel like a spoiled child when I have those feelings...I mean, I was in WDW for over a week! But knowing other have this post-Disney depression I don't feel so alone!

We are at 37 days. Told my DH last week that I love counting down the days til vacation, until we get under 30. Then I try to ignore the countdown ticker. Those last 30 days go so fast & before you know it , vacation will be here & gone.

We do go every year, but knowing we'll be back doesn't help me any when I'm leaving!

Our kids (6 and 4) consider the monorail at the Orlando airport the first ride on their Disney vacation. As far as they're concerned, once they get on the airport monorail they've already arrived at the World.

Hello neighbor, I am from PEI how long does it take you to drive down?

Hello neighbor, we were suppose to be in PEI last weekend for my daughter's soccer tournament but our team pulled out. We love going over to visit, such a beautiful place.

The total drive is 36 hours. We usually do the drive in 2 days (19 hours 1st day). We try to make it to Richmond Virginia if possible. If not we always try to get past New York at least. I love the drive, and it gives us flexibility should we have to leave early because of weather on either end.

EDIT: If you want to know our route I could ask DH, we have so many maps that show hotels, restaurants etc. since we never book hotels on the way down. Just stop when we get tired. We also wrote down the amount of gas we used so we could see the total cost.
