When we were there last year we went later in the day to DC and could not go on the ride since WWHP was at capacity. The sad art was I don't think that particular ride was very crowded. Correct me if Im wrong but that is the only access to the ride. We asked one of the employees and that was what we were told. Any other info would be appreciated.

Unfortunately...the only way to access DC is through WWoHP.

Thank You for the info. That's ashame...they really cut off a great ride which I don't think gets the use it would normally. Is WWHP still so crowded that they close the area off?:confused3

Yes.

There still always seem to be a wait for Dragon Challenge.

The coasters used to be easy to get to before all the construction changed everything. It's a shame they didn't think to maybe put in a second entrance for people who want to ride but can't get into WWoHP. Maybe that will be coming down the road.

WWoHP wasn't closed off this past weekend (Saturday & Sunday) but we spoke with a Manager who said that it had been earlier in the week.

DC was only a 5 to 15 minute wait both days we were there.

Yes, but it reopens later in the day.

The problem with that is, the exit still would go into Harry Potter, so people could just go in the other line and get in without waiting.

poor show. i have no interest in WWoHP, but i really enjoy duelling dragons. it really sucks if you can't get to it just because of how the park is built.

Yeah...this is one attraction they really screwed up...IMHO. They should have left it in the LC instead of "rethemeing" it and creating this problem by including it in WWoHP but I guess they thought FJ couldn't stand alone.

they must have done it to make it look like they'd got another new ride, when it's not. plus it was already dragon themed so it was easy to change.

I don't think they were trying to insinuate they had gotten another ride as most people should have known it was a retheme. There was no need to change the attraction from what they had to the new theme. The queue for Dueling Dragons was the most elaborate and well themed queue I'd ever seen...especially for a coaster but now it's gone and with it came the problems of people not being able to ride it when WWoHP is too crowded.

I really don't care about Harry Potter, but I LOVE riding the Dragons. This just doesn't seem fair!!!

I agree Metro...with the amount they spent I'm shocked it wasn't considered. They must have anticipated the crowds.:)

I thought I'd post a quick question in this thread seeing as it is kinda relevant.

I haven't yet been to UO since Harry arrived but going later in the year. I LOVED Dueling Dragons, everytime we went on it the wait was low and I really enjoyed the que, I thought the themeing was immaculate. How much of this amazing themeing has changed? Is it completely re-done or is it the same que but with added 'Potter' elements?

I never saw it before HP, but from what I've read on here, you are in for a big disappointment. :(

Unfortunately, the Dragon's queue is easily the most disappointing part of the Wizarding World. The rooms have little artifacts in them, such as the Goblet of Fire, the Tri-Wizard Cup, and one of the rooms has the floating candle effect. That's basically it. A rumor is that they did have an elaborate idea planned out, but it was all scrapped for Forbidden Journey's budget.

You missed the most elaborate and detailed queue of any coaster out there. You could watch Merlin tell you the back story from the castle and if you read the bones throughout the queue, it would tell you the story as well. I wish I had taken more pictures of the queue before it was gutted.

I was very upset when the decision was made to tear all that out and retheme it.
