Sounds like an awesome morning!:thumbsup2

Love that photo of momma and her boys in front of the castle!:goodvibes

Can't wait to hear what you and the E's do until the rest of the gang arrive.

Cynthia, great updates. It sounds like a perfect morning to me at the MK -- breakfast at the Bakery (which I definitely want to do this year), and rides with E's that you've not done or forgotten. And wonderful photopass pics of you and the boys. :goodvibes

I love the idea of a never-done morning! And of enjoying a leisurely breakfast on Main Street...not sure if I'll ever be able to get myself to do it, though. Maybe, if I ever get to take a trip longer than my typical 4 nights?

I'm going to start thinking of some never-dones for my next trip. I probably won't have time for many with family in tow, but maybe I can squeeze in a few!

A "never done" morning is a great idea, since it was just the 3 of you. I laughed at your "we aren't totally crazy" line about SM fastpasses, and said "whew!".

I didn't go on Astro Orbiter when my kids went on it, for just what you described -- I was afraid that height'd freak me out. I'd be fine if I had to go up there, but if I didn't, I'd rather just be on the ground.

Nice update. Looking forward to the rest of the morning.

A look up

And out

I have to tell you.

This ride FREAKED ME OUT. I am a total thrill ride junkie…to a point. I am a bit freaky at times about height. I really should have let a kid pilot my plane as this ride, the only ride of the trip, all parks, scared the bejeezus out of me. Annoyed me too as if I’d not have been such a wuss, the view was really pretty amazing up there. It’s funny, I didn’t expect it to freak me out at all. We’d never done it as the line is always so long and never seems to move. And even with a very empty park still, it moved slow. It’s just a slow…and LONG…ride. The boys LOVED it though.

There is not a coaster I would NOT go on, but yes the rockets freaked me out a little too. Something about the height and the angle the rockets goup at. It just add to the unsability of it all.

I did do it recently, but trying to take pictures was hard. I really wanted to keep one hand holding on to something. :)

What an awesome morning...low crowd levels and just the three of sounds like the perfect start to a day.

Hopefully the day stayed like that:goodvibes

Great update, Cynthia! I'm glad you and the E's kept to your plan - I'm sure it will prove to be a good move. How fun to do "never dones" :thumbsup2

Looking forward to meeting you!

Awesome update! Congrats on making it to the park as early as you did! I was very surprised when I read in your earlier post that MK was opening at 7 am. I think your trip was just a week or two after ours and opening was a 8 for EMH.

What a great way to spend a morning at MK with the boys! Fantastic photopass photos with the castle, too!

Astro-orbitors: We tried this in 2009 for the first time. It didn't scare me, but made me nauseous! I don't do great on spinning rides, but it looked tame enough. I think waiting in line in the heat contributed to that. Fortunately, the ride is close to Auntie Gravities and a cappucino smoothie greatly helped in my recovery from queasiness.

Jungle Cruise: We had that driver- Blake- last year. We really liked him and in fact we mentioned him in a letter we sent to guest relations after our trip.

Looking forward to hearing more about your morning.

wow i havent done astro orbitor in at least 15 years, will have to try that one again, im sure parker will love it as it goes in circles.

and to funny that they though the animals were real.

OOOOH I love the bakery!!! What a fabulous morning! I love sitting there as Main Street opens up and you can take it all in :cloud9:
Excellent pictures of you and the E's in front of the Castle!! So good!! :thumbsup2
Okay, I am sorry but I just laughed right out loud about you being freaked out on Astro Orbiters!!! :rotfl2: I'm sorry!!! :rotfl:;) It really is a great view though!!
Too funny about the animals on the JC....the skipper really makes the ride. I like it because it's one of those rides that reminds me of going with my parents eons ago :goodvibes
Looks like you are having a very good morning with your tailored down group! :thumbsup2

Tracy

Great fun! I love those mornings too! You actually can do a lot! And that is the right attitude about it, a little of this a little of that, no pressure, and just fun! SO good for you! I LOVE the astro-orbiter for the view! But it is rather precarious up there!!! I understand that!! Great to actually sit and eat something at the bakery... I have never been inside! I think b/c if we do breakfast in the MK (which is really all we ever do if we eat at the MK) it is brunch, so I don't want to spoil my appetite!!! BUT they have cinnamon rolls, right? I think I have seen those and they look goooooooooood.

Can't wait to see where the rest of the day takes you guys!!!! :thumbsup2

Your gang sounds so much like my group did back in 2008. Parents who just refused to show up any time before lunch- only to eat, ride one or two rides, and then say they were tired. Disney makes a killing off folks like this everyday!

But, I, on the other hand, refused to play that game and did like you. Up early-ish, and ready to hit the park with a list of "hey that's sounds fun"s. I"m so glad you got this peaceful, and relaxing time wiht the boys. You really had a nice time doing some things on that list!

I detest that ride as well!! It is truly Frightening! I swear I almost got flung out of my seat when I was in like Jr. High, and I never went on it again. I will not.

I can do ToT, RnRC, whatever, but NOT that one. :scared1:

Can I tell you how very much I hate AstroOrbiter!? We rode it once and only once! Back in 05. DH had DS and I had DD. It completely freaked me out and I thought we were going to come flying out of the darn thing!

It looks like you had a productive morning!!! What a great way to start the day!

why am I so late for this update????? :confused3

All I can say is, you certainly made up for your less than stellar safari pictures on this day. You got tons of great shots. Even the astro-oribter. I'm impressed. I think that ride spins way too fast to even see anything and then ....boom.....its over.

Great PP Pics in front of the castle. Thanks for the JC tour. I haven't been on it for awhile myself.

You all look well rested and like you are having a great time!

Sounds like an awesome morning!:thumbsup2

It really was!

Love that photo of momma and her boys in front of the castle!:goodvibes

Thanks!

It really was! There is a lot to be said for Breakfast at the Bakery. We've gotten treats there (though more often from the Confectionery lol) but it was really special sitting on main street, eating, in the early morning hours before the crowds and just soaking it up.

I love the idea of a never-done morning! And of enjoying a leisurely breakfast on Main Street...not sure if I'll ever be able to get myself to do it, though. Maybe, if I ever get to take a trip longer than my typical 4 nights?

It was so much fun to just be spontaneous like that! Who knows if the breakfast will ever happen again. :rotfl:

I'm going to start thinking of some never-dones for my next trip. I probably won't have time for many with family in tow, but maybe I can squeeze in a few!

A few is always good. We always shoot for a few but never seem to manage all that much so this was really fun to just kind of run with it as a theme but let the boys drive it.

A "never done" morning is a great idea, since it was just the 3 of you. I laughed at your "we aren't totally crazy" line about SM fastpasses, and said "whew!".

My spontaneity does have it's limits

:rotfl:

well honestly there are multiple things to freak out on on that thing. It's just a sit in front of the other person giant seatbelt kind of harness. Not exactly the most secure feeling in the world. I bet the E's felt more harnessed in than I did!

Seriously. I went up and down once and then just stayed "down". The E's were doing up and down like crazy! I just wanted to hang on, not steer!

Funny though as really, is it all that different from Aladdin in concept other than the fact that your base point is already 2 stories up? Not so sure it us but it sure does increase the freak out factor.

Nice update. Looking forward to the rest of the morning.

So was I!

There is not a coaster I would NOT go on, but yes the rockets freaked me out a little too. Something about the height and the angle the rockets goup at. It just add to the unsability of it all.

Unstable is very much how it felt.

I did do it recently, but trying to take pictures was hard. I really wanted to keep one hand holding on to something. :)

Exactly. You are trying to fly up and down, not freak out, and take pictures. It didn't work out so well.

What an awesome morning...low crowd levels and just the three of sounds like the perfect start to a day.

It was!

Hopefully the day stayed like that:goodvibes

mnn...not exactly. :rotfl:

Awesome update!!! You guys are having so much fun  I love doing new things. This year we are going to go to The Hall of Presidents, Liberty Square Riverboat, and Country Bear Jamboree. We are going to take it easy since it will be my daughters first time and she will be two. Im kinda excited about doing Disney Low Key Style. I really like how you are just sitting back and taking it all in, not rushing the kiddoz. Now thats a vacation :thumbsup2

How sad that the others chose not to come along, but it sounds like you and the Es had such a lovely morning at the MK! I think your mindset on how to approach that day was perfect: not try to hit everything, but just taking in some things without worrying about how to get on all the mountains... :thumbsup2

What a great morning. We too had breakfast in the MK at the bakery and I agree it was the perfect way to start our day.

Awesome update! Congrats on making it to the park as early as you did! I was very surprised when I read in your earlier post that MK was opening at 7 am. I think your trip was just a week or two after ours and opening was a 8 for EMH.

clearly I was confused. :rotfl:

What a great way to spend a morning at MK with the boys! Fantastic photopass photos with the castle, too!

It didn't make naseous, thank heavens. One of those smoothies fixes almost anything though! It's kind of funny, it's like AO is the hidden terror ride. You never really hear about it but it seems virtually no one really likes it!

Jungle Cruise: We had that driver- Blake- last year. We really liked him and in fact we mentioned him in a letter we sent to guest relations after our trip.

Looking forward to hearing more about your morning.

We liked him too, it was just crummy timing that he told the same jokes we'd just heard at the Laugh Floor so it made him appear unoriginal to the kids. He was great up until that point.

wow i havent done astro orbitor in at least 15 years, will have to try that one again, im sure parker will love it as it goes in circles.

As long as Parker isn't scared of heights, you are up there!

and to funny that they though the animals were real.

It didn't occur to me to tell them that they weren't and it was funny that they didn't clue in right away.

OOOOH I love the bakery!!! What a fabulous morning! I love sitting there as Main Street opens up and you can take it all in :cloud9:
Excellent pictures of you and the E's in front of the Castle!! So good!! :thumbsup2

It was a really special morning!

Okay, I am sorry but I just laughed right out loud about you being freaked out on Astro Orbiters!!! :rotfl2: I'm sorry!!! :rotfl:;) It really is a great view though!!

Laugh away, it's ok. I think it's lame it freaked me out. But it did.

Too funny about the animals on the JC....the skipper really makes the ride. I like it because it's one of those rides that reminds me of going with my parents eons ago :goodvibes
Looks like you are having a very good morning with your tailored down group! :thumbsup2

Tracy

That's exactly what I remember about the ride too and it still takes me back to being 12 at Disneyland....I hope the E's have the same memory decades from now.

:goodvibes
