WOW! What a day - I would never have been able to survive that many hours without sleep and food!!! Good for you going to Sanaa and enjoying what sure looked like a yummy meal!! My family would go for the boring chicken on the kids meal or something, but I would love it!
What a PITA cabbie!! He wouldn't have gotten a tip out of me.
I hope you all got a good night's sleep!
I am VERY blessed with 2 adventuresome eaters and 2 that can try to find something that works for them. We've always exposed them to this kind of food so it really wasn't a stretch but I'm very grateful they are the way they are, it sure makes ADR's more fun for me!
He was a pita! It's always interesting heading back to the room on that first night, wondering how you'll sleep...

I was so hoping for an update. Gabby is at a friend's, the other two are outside reaking havoc with the neighborhood kids playing night games, and I am sitting here with my big old mug of water (I am back on the health kick wagon, those 2 lb turned into 3 and I am not shooting for 5). Love me some DIS on a mellow Friday night.
I hear you my friend. I should have had water with my pizza but the beer tasted better tonight. I figure it's my reward for weighted lunges and squats yesterday. Oh wait, the new workout pants and top that just arrived were my reward. Oh well, I deserve more than one reward, right? NOT.
Yes. I can justify beer too
And pizza
It had veggies on it
And tomorrow I'll reward myself for zumba with margaritas.
kind of self defeating huh.
Back to the topic at hand. Sanna looks goo-ood! My sweet Chloe just learned to make naan and it has officially taken over my home for carb of choice.
It was SOOOO good! That's a perfect carb of choice. I've never made it myself and we are trying to go all brown around here (brown rice, whole wheat pasta), naan would be a yummy item in the rotation. Not that it's very healthy but....
Cynthia, I'm so glad that you enjoyed Sanaa!
LOVED it! How could you not actually?
Wow, I can't believe that you had an eerily similar delay in seating as we did. (Ours was a dinner seating also.) Judy's still holding a grudge so we didn't eat there this year, but I can't wait to go back -- the food was so good!
I was having Glennbo deja vu with that wait. For some reason I thought yours was a lunch, not sure why. They were busy though, I'll give them that, and once served, our server rocked. We could have gone into the bar which looked really cool, but more than one drink and Jeff and I might have passed out.
When we were there James was disappointed that there weren't any Indian-types of dishes on the children's menu so they gave him a child's portion (supposedly) of the short ribs. It was huge!
I remember that now! I should have pushed him, I'm sure we could have gotten him a chicken curry, which he adores.
That green curry shrimp was pretty darn tasty too!
Wow. You lasted until MIDNIGHT.

I would have been so cranky and crabby - and probably barking, much like your cab driver at that point!
I almost barked back but he wasn't worth the energy
11 was more what we'd had in mind and we'd have been in decent shape if that had been the case. That last hour was brutal between waiting for the desserts and check, the cab, then the ride and the long walk down the hall to the room.
We all passed out. I am not sure I even made people brush their teeth!
I've heard all good reviews of Saana - namely, those "gravy" choices. They look delish. And I'm with you on the naan. Yum. I could make a meal of just naan! Joe isn't big on Indian, I think it would take a lot of convincing, or a "surprise!"

to get him there....
I was kind of surprised Tay went for the gravy and not the Tandoori Chicken but he loved what he got which made us really happy! It is wonderful!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely a top for me, even with the wait. Where in the top I'm not sure but a perfect first night.
