Day 2- Planning Session Day!
My sister left early this morning and the rest of us decided to sleep in a bit and skip our planned 1900 Park Fare Breakfast. We arrived at Franck's at 9 am to begin our day. First we met with our wonderful planner, Maxine! She seemed very experienced and was so sweet and funny too. We had a great time going over all the details of the day with her! I think my wedding is in fantastic hands with her! We chatted for a few hours, then she took us to see the Wedding Pavilion and hear our organist! This was one of the best parts of the day, he was absolutely fantastic! I loved the new windows too. Next we went back to Franck's to taste cake! YUM!!! We tasted just about every flavor and decided on 3- red velvet with cream cheese frosting for the first layer, marble cake with bavarian cream frosting for the second, and carrott cake with cream cheese frosting for the third, and we are going to serve all 3 layers. We decided on the Happily Ever After Cake with rhinestones bands around the layers, and the white chocolate castle on top for the design! Next up with met with Elizabeth about our floral, who also seemed wonderful. Everything was really easy to pick out until we got to linens! We spent almost an hour looking at different shades of silver and overlays! We finally decided on platinum crinkle tafetta with white pixie dust overlays and rasberry crushed tafetta napkins. Finally at about 1:30 we were donw for the morning and had a break until 2:15 to rest up a bit and walk around the Grand Floridian. At 2:15 we met up with Maxine again in our reception room to plan out the layout, then we headed to the kitchen for our tasting!
The menu tasting was everyone's favorite part, everything was fantastic! The menu we decided on is a plated dinner with crab cakes for the appetizer, a ceasar salad-plated tableside, and 3 entree choices- parmesean encrusted chicken with mushrooms and mushroom cream sauce (my FAV!) with cheddar and chive mashed potatoes, mahi mahi with mago salsa and rice pilaf, and pork tenderloin with zinfendel sauce and truffle oil risotto, all with seasonal vegetables. We also tried a sea scallop appetizer which I forgot to photograph and chicken marsala. I am very confident with our chef! Lastly, they surprised us with a Cinderella's Slipper dessert which was beautiful and delicious.
We finished up our final questions by about 5:00 pm and then Chris and I were off to Downtown Disney because we got him surprise tickets to see Cirque de Soleil that night! It was amazing! We were not really hungry for a real dinner that night after all the food, so instead we finished the night with drinks, appetizers, and fireworks at The Top of the World Lounge! It was a fantastic day overall, and I am so excited about all the plans we made!!
I have lots of photos to share as well from this day, including food porn!!
