DP table decorations

I am trying to decide what to have on my tables at our dp, floral has recommended minature street lamps but im not very fond of them. I wanted the cylinders filled with petals and candles that we are having at our reception but was told they would encourage bugs and the candles will blow out if there is a breeze,
Does anyone have any ideas? Im completely out of them!!!

I created centerpieces with star-shaped lollipops in ~6" tall vases filled with pink & green & white sea glass. Here is a picture of a very "rough" sample:

We are doing a "WISHES" dessert party and our theme is All of Our Wishes Have Come True, so I am not sure how helpful my idea is.
