We are contemplating getting a GV for Christmas break in 2006. Part of the trip, my side of the family would be joining us, then the other part of the trip would be either dh's side of the family or some of my teens' friends.

Doing the dining plan would allow us to let people kind of know what to plan on for food costs, but how would DVC handle their being a "mixed" group on our stay?

For that matter, how do they handle this with room key cards? We're a group that would do early entry, so having a resort card for each person will be important too.

DDE would be less complicated, but if we do this trip we'll be burning all of our points for awhile - so an AP wouldn't be needed.

you would need two reservations - once for your family side, the other with dh's side.

DVC needs the names on the reservations for the keys (ID).

So the only way I can see you being able to do this - is with 2 reservations.

(you probably won't be asked to move - although you might - the problem would be you might be without a villa from 11am to 4pm)

DH & I would be there the entire time, as would our dd's. I hadn't thought about having to check out & then back in. We've done that before & it is time consuming!

We were hoping to set up a Christmas tree in our villa & not have to move would be a big plus.

I'm sure they could work that out for you so you didn't have to check out and back in. Perhaps turn in the keys for the people who left and ask for new ones with the new peoples names. Do they check ID's for early entry?
