With all the talk on the Earl of Sandwich and the reopening of Lego I think we have to get to DTD sometime this trip. The question is when? We always just squeeze it in on our last day. I am thinking maybe earlier in the week like on a water park day. When do you go to DTD during your stay? And how long do you spend there? Last time we went DS and DD had just started pin collecting so we were in that store for about an hour! :hourglass

We always go our first night, maybe get there around 4 or 5, eat, shop, and just stay however long until we're done with everything we want to do. We usually only do the marketplace side then...We do westside another time and skip Pleasure Island.

The first year we went to Disney we went on the last day of our stay which was also a Friday and it was really crowded and a little stressful. Now I try to go earlier and not on a weekend and buy my gifts throughout our trip rather than waiting until the last day. This way I can enjoy myself and not just rush around because there's a lot of good shopping there. :Pinkbounc

Just wanted to say we ate at the Earl of Sandwich and the food was really good.
We went to DD right after noon. It was not that busy, but as it got closer toevvening, it got busier and busier. I think a lot of people come after the parks on a short park day or at the end of their afternoon rest before going back to a park for the evening.

A Sunday around 10 at OKW.Room is not ready so we check luggage and grab boat and go over to DTD.We spent 3 or 4 hourslooking around and have lunch. Then return to OKW and settle in our resort room for a litle rest and unpacking. Then our first day tradition ends with going to 7:15 HDDR and the hayride afterwards. :goodvibes :wave2:

This Aug DS13 & I will be going to Downtown Disney our 1st full day at night - planning on going for dinner at Rainforest

I know, that's what we do too. My DDs are older now so hopefully we will make it over there this time. I have wanted to check out the CW and AC for about 10 years now.

If we're there over a holiday, we go the day after the major holiday, like we went Easter Monday and the Friday after Thanksgiving. Other than that, we go on a Saturday and avoid the parks that day.

we always go the first night we arrive, and the last day to pick up any forgotten disney trinkets.

This trip, we went on Thursday, the day before we left. We left the parks early because it was supposed to rain (and it did), and went to Earl of Sandwich for lunch (delicious :teeth: ).
Do not do this if you are planning on having your purchases sent back to your resort. Because we were checking out the next day, we could not have them sent back to the resort, because they don't arrive until the next afternoon. If you don't want to carry your bags, then make sure you go at least 2 days before you check out.

We always hit it the first night we arrive just to walk around and grab some dinner. Then if we feel like it, we'll head back there on the last day if we wanted to buy anything else.
